Who will take donated RVp-related items

I used to have a popup camper that I donated to a Chicago-area charity. I now have a lot of accessories that I would like to donate, but don't know who would take them. We no longer to RV camping.
I'm talking about items such as water container, grey water container, BAL leveler, BAL chocks, hoses, fittings, etc. I even have cookware for inside use.
Anyone know who would want these kinds of items, used and donated?

Local church. Many will store items and then hold a sale or sometimes even offer them to the members at yard sale prices. We even did a charity auction with the donated items with half going to the church and did an auction for the right to choose which non-profit the other half went to and it was donated in the highest bidders name.

If not interested in a tax credit than list for free on craiglist or if you live in my neighborhood just set it on the curb and it will be gone by morning.

Third option is to find a local RV club and let them have the items for the members to sift through.

You have a ton of thrift stores and church based thrift stores in your area. Donate them to a NON profit thrift store. That way the money goes to a good cause.

I've picked up quite a few RV items for myself from local thrift stores.

Make an RV'er happy AND know that the money will go to a good cause. :C

4 years ago, when we got our current camper that came with an outside stove, we no longer needed (or wanted) all our old Coleman Camp Stoves and all the related stuff with it. We had 2 stoves, one was a 2 burner and the other was a flat griddle-grill and one burner. We had a 20 pound gas tank, hoses for both stoves, a propane pole with multiple hook-ups, a Coleman gas lantern that fit on top of the propane pole and a couple dozen brand new mantels for the lantern. We had the stoves in Coleman bags for safe keeping and to keep them clean. Put it all together, it was quite a haul, in addition, a bunch of other stuff I don't even remember now.

My wife put a "For Sale" on Craigslist for the entire mess. The one restrictions was, whoever wanted it, had to take it ALL, and it was ALL FREE!

Within 2 hours the Emails went back and forth, and within another hour, the entire mess was gone.

Who got it? An adult leader in charge of a boy-scout pack. He was thrilled beyond belief to get the stuff for his boy scout pack. We were thrilled it was going to REALLY good use.

It's just a suggestion? Check with your boy scout - girl scout clubs, especially if its' all give-away items.

we donate to Goodwill all the time. about the only things they won't take...according to the mgr at our local outlet..are:

- anything organic, ie, food.

- no hazardous waste...motor oils, household chemicals, tires, batteries

- obvious garbage (see the first two items)

- analog, CRT type TV sets and monitors

everything else is welcome. the local store mgr says only a small faction of what they take in ends up being totally useless and heads for the landfill. everything else is either refurbished, cleaned and sent to one of their stores or is given to other charities to use. I asked him specifically about old sneakers as we had a ton of those. he said they are recycled in one of two ways: the shoe is broken down into parts which are then used to mate up with other parts creating a "new" shoe which are then distributed overseas or if the donated shoe is in reasonably good condition it is cleaned, outfitted with new laces and sold or donated. Goodwill employees thousands of folks to do this work...people who otherwise might not be able to find a job.

if you don't want to go the Goodwill route check to see if there is a local Freecycle group in your area.

You post your unwanted stuff on Freecycle and that post is then sent to members of that list. we do a lot of that as well and it works as advertised. Craig's list also has a 'free' section. we just gave away our old RV sewer hoses and fittings on our local Freecycle board.

Have a Garage Sale or participate at your Friends or neighbors garage sale. Offer it up on Craig's list.

In Woodstock you can donate items at the Sparrow's Nest Thrift Store. Nearby in Crystal Lake there is the Bethesda Thrift Shop, Savers, and a Goodwill store. I suspect Goodwill and Saver are more likely to take the unusual items.

Goodwill will take anything.
Last time I tried donating used items to the Salvation Army they said no thank you, we only take new items in boxes.

One of our local Goodwill stores had a used honey wagon for sale:E
They had a note on it that said they had it sanitized
