This year's trip is to Florida (Disney, the keys, etc...) I'm kind of crazy about keeping the RV looking good. BUT for some reason I keep thinking about all the retirees with their huge class A coaches, and I want to make my Class C look better than usual. I must be nuts

I'm a retired people with a class a. It is 17 years old and we keep it well maintained. I would invite all to visit with us when we are found. Look for: "OMA OPA AUSFAHRT" on rear of coach. We're friendly. So are our dogs.

Just a side note... I am the same person in my fifth-wheel that I was in my Monaco Class A. Seems as we pull the valve to dump the black tank, we are all equal???? ๐Ÿ™‚

LOL!! That thought about all of us dumping the black tank is the Great Equalizer, crossed my mind, too ๐Ÿ™‚

I see some of those beautiful luxury coaches, and feel sorry that they can't camp in the same wonderful rustic spots that we enjoyed over the years in our "little" 28' Class C...

Not crazy to take pride in what you have.

Those people in the expensive rigs dump black tanks the same way I do in my little trailer. They deal with the same stuff going wrong as I do. They probably feel as odd turning their rigs onto a dirt road as I do pulling my rig into a FHU site.

You are all at that campsite to enjoy yourselves. So, enjoy.

I roll up looking like **** every time we take a trip because I usually drive 1,000+ miles and have bug guts and road dirt galore all over my fifth wheel.... could I stop at a Blue Beacon and have it washed.... sure, but I'm not gonna waste that kind of money when I can do it myself at home for free.

What is the prize?

You need to ask YOURSELF why you feel the need to compete?

I am retired. I refuse to engage in comparing careers it is a hollow endeavor.

Size does not matter. I knew millionairs who traveled in a camper van. They were just the nicest people you would ever want to meet. Also, you would never know they had money.

Find a way to be at peace with who you are.

I was one night at one of those private resorts where you lease the site. A few unleased sites were available to nomads like me. At that point we had been on the road for 6 weeks and 6,000 miles, and looked like it.

Almost every unit on the leased sites was a class A that looked like it was on the showroom floor. So the question is, how do they keep them so clean? I thing that washing on-site was not allowed.

I'll always be envious of those who drive a new Prevost or Newell. But, it never stops me from being a happy camper, in my ole Dutch Star.

I kinda like being somewhat different from the crowd. Don't much care what anyone else thinks. No, I am not the slob of the CG with junk all over but simply walking by shows that somebody a little strange is in that site.

The rig is a very rare one. Most have never heard of Alpenlite. There is a small flag flying from the pinbox & it is not a US flag. The grill on the table is not the usual Weber but a Magma marine grill. That alone is a conversation starter. Then there are our fold up bikes. Downtube. Never seen anyone else with Downtube bikes.

Being different is good.

I bought the camper that works for me.
Other people buy the camper that works for them.
There's no competition. No reason to live up to somebody else's standards.

Go and enjoy the parks. The same way everybody else is.
