10 awg 2 conductor (solved)

Looking for 5' of 2 conductor wire to go from a charge controller to the battery. Cheap!!! Shipping is the killer.

I could use 10' of the mc4 wire headed my way but that just reduces how far away I can move the panel.

I assume something like this - 10 AWG 2-Conductor Tray Cable 10 Feet

Thanks all, decided on 10g jacketed brake wire by the foot

While individual cable boat wire is great - I used it to wire my inverter, if you use the boat cable designed to replace NM wiring, make sure any connections you make are rated for stranded wire. I like the stranded 12/2 wire for standing up to vibration, however it likely wouldn't be rated for stab type connectors (not that I'd ever recommend stab connectors for anything!)

Boat wire will work just fine. That's what I used to wire up my entire trailer. It was a joy to work with, even the heavier gauge stuff. It is all pre-tinned, and the 2-conductor is usually red/black, or sometimes red/yellow, while the 3-conductor is usually white/black/green. And yes, the stuff is quite flexible too.

Cheers!

When I installed my Power Distribution Panel I ran 12-GAUGE 2-COND BOAT WIRE to all of my 12VDC appliances...

Found sources on EBAY

I believe the brand name was PACER MARINE - Be sure to get WHITE and BLACK color conductors which is standard for RV Trailer wiring.

All of my heavy wiring was ANCOR BRAND 4AWG Battery cable using ANCOR BRAND hydraulic crimped on ring terminals

I purchased one of these 8-ton Hydraulic hand crimpers kits ($60)

Cables dress up real nice when you build up your own...

battery jumper cables at the local Walmart. Walmart even has large wire connectors in the battery sales area.

West marine has good choices. I would suggest going larger to decrease any voltage drop. Maybe 8/2Duplex cable/wire

I had a local car stereo shop make me some 8ga fine-strand flexible battery cables. $1 per foot and $1 ea for crimped-on gold-plated ring connectors.
