Battery Water Fill System

New golf cart has 6-8 volt batteries and couple of the filler caps are almost impossible to see/fill properly. Any suggestions for a water fill system? I see some priced at over $300.00.

$5 worth of mineral oil and donโ€™t ever need to add more water. LOL.

It works too well and the seller's of distilled water have been trying to keep a lid on it for years. "It" being the lid on the mineral oil bottle. "They" tried to buy up all the mineral oil, but there is still some available at high prices on the black market. The distilled water folks flooded (flooded, get it?) the market with cheap product to keep the mineral oil where it belongs. In the medicine cabinet.

I have done it. May slow down water evaporation a little but will not stop it. Don't think you can do this and forget it.

If you donโ€™t put enough oil in each cell it will not form an adequate barrier layer.

Iโ€™ve seen lots of comments from various folks saying โ€˜you only need a few drops per cellโ€™ and this would do nothing.

I feel your pain. Had to use a mirror and turkey baster to fill mine. I bought a system through Amazon for my 4-6v batteries. I don't recall the price but I know it was less than $200.

I've been wondering how to avoid taking the batteries out to check water level. Some wooden stir sticks or tongue depressors with a clip-on stop to limit the length could be dipped into cells like a dipstick. A bit of measuring and testing could create a table listing the amount of water needed to top up a cell with any starting level. Then the correct amount of water could be added to a cell with a syringe having a short curved tube on the business end while the battery is in place in its compartment.

Thanks. Always looking for unique solutions.

A check with a battery MANUFACTURING company who recommends but does not sell a watering system may prove to productive.
