Best lube for rubber and gears on slide out.

My slide out is making all kinds of noise (squeaks grunts jerks) what is the best lubricant you have found for this problem. I am pretty sure its just needs some sort of lube..

Service the gear packs as indicated on page 9 of this link..Do this several times a year and especially if you have towed over roads treated with deicing solution or sand and salt...

Some have said they coat the bottom (not sides or top) of slide with auto wax.

I've read that so many times here. In reality it just isn't a problem.
Even grease with a little road dust in it is better than dry, rusty parts rubbing together. As far as wear, I've never seen any on the slides racks or scissor jacks (which come packed with grease from the factory) in more than a decade of use.

Silicon spray or grease works great on "rubber". The grease especially will catch and hold dirt.

I'm sorry, I mixed up my two different kinds of slides. The noisy rubber rollers (or wheels) were on the rack and pinion slide and not in the floor like I intimated.
You can see the rollers in this pic and I'm pointing to the nut on the end of the bolt.
Once the weight is off the rollers, it's easy to remove the bolt and roller to lube them up.

click the link and look at the part called roller shaft. THAT roller is on the end inside of the drive shaft. Usually, that roller drags instead of rolling and causes a horrible noise. Solution is to access the assbly which will be between the frame rails and if on a towable will have to drop part of the covered underbelly. take spray white grease and saturate the outer tube guide front to rear on top where the roller glides on the steel. Also, take WD40 and spray the axle shafts for that roller. This usually fixes the noise problem. Doug

I use Slip Plate brand graphite spray on the rack and pinion. Much smoother and quiet. Seems to reduce the rust also. Goes on and dries like paint. Probably same as the dry lube linked just above.

My S/o made ahorrendous amount of sqeuaking and screaching noise when new. Both dealer and factory said there was nothing that could be done and that "They're all like that".
I had my DW extend and retract the slide while I was under the rig looking for the source of the noise - which I found.
My slide glides back and forth on rubber rollers. These hard rubber rollers use long bolts as axles. It's the friction of the rubber against the metal bolt that made all the noise.
I put a jack under the s/o and lifted it about 1/4", just enough to take the load off the rollers individually. Then I removed each roler and lubricated the inside of them by applying a liberal coat of grease (silicone grease actually - great for rubber) and after that, it was not only silent but it also moved smoother.

some manufactures recommend baby power applied with an old sock on the seals and wipe down with a clean sock

Don't know what brand of slide you have. For my Power Gear the only thong you can lube is the bearings on the shaft that the motor rotates. 30w oil.
