Here it is 3 am , I awake to a humming noise then out goes the power, directly things come back on. I have noticed these past few days at random times that my lights seem to flicker a bit, can someone please give a bit of advice for I know taking this thing to the shop is like dancing on hot coals then you have a 5 k bill and still no resolution to the problem.

This is a 2004 Big Sky Montana fifth wheel, any and all help will be appreciated.

You may not have one. Here is what it looks like.

You have your answer from the park !
One might remind them if they KNOW there is a problem and that on/off destroys your AC or converter your insurance co will look to them to repay them after they cough up $1000 to have someone come out and replace for instance the AC unit. You sure would hate to see them get in hot water when they had the parts all along ๐Ÿ™‚

Ok we talked to park personnel explained what was happening, he said and I quote"oh yea I forgot there is a bad hub there I have the parts to fix but just never got to it" now as for being able to move there are no more sites available here or anywhere close to here, now after getting ths information from the park I felt a bit of relief thinking it was going to be fixed TODAY. Well here it is at 2:20 am and we lost all power this time to everything except the ac unit upstairs, thinking I am going to look for this self resetting breaker in this thing.

The battery on here is a brand new battery we just put on here two weeks ago thinking that could have been the issue, my guess now is not.

It may be a self resetting circuit breaker that is failing. I had one in the line between the battery and the converter. It was a 40A breaker but it started opening at about 15A. It would open, everything would go dark, then self reset a few seconds later and the lights would come back on. Replaced the breaker and all was well.

I beleive DR Quick has hit the nail on the head. It is a incoming power issue and I would have the park personnel check the post real quick. If it is ok then a call to a mobile maintenance man is in order. Hope fully the park office can recommend a good one. This issue sounds like it is beyond your capabilities.

Has anyone checked the battery lately? A lot of your 120v devices need 12v to the circuit boards, including the alarms. If an intermittent 120v "brown out" occurs, the converter and battery should allow for 12v power to be available. It sounds to me like you have a bad battery and the converter is failing, trying to charge the bad battery.

Just curious if anyone in the area is having problems too. If you have a 50 amp extension chord, could you connect to an adjacent open site for a few days? Or have you asked to move to another site? If this would stop power interruptions then you know problem is not in your trailer.

The catch is it doesn't do it every night nor does it do this all the time the 4th was the first for me and it happened about 11:30 am then again about 6 am Friday morning then again this morning several times........

Just at a loss for why this is happening

Dr. Quick it is a 50 amp, and yes every time it goes down it is everything in living area and kitchen wit main air conditioner unit, and then other times it is everything in trailer that goes down this has only recently just started since we have been in this site never and I say never have we had any issues with this trailer since we purchased it.

If your AC (vs DC) isn't working in the kitchen area then it might be something as simple as GFI outlet which needs to be reset - your rig probably has at least two of them - one in kitchen area - one in bathroom - and maybe one other outside. Also - check the main AC circuit breakers - turn all the way off and back on.

Converter has a fan that comes on for cooling, when converter is working harder. Could be that fan motor is defective or locked causing hum, up if that is where noise is coming from.

Could also be if converter fan is not working, converter is kicking off on over load causing erratic problems.

Also another possibility, if you have 50 amp service, 1/2 if your system could be going down. Is it the same items that go off each night? converter could be on that side of the system

Ok I am a woman which absolutely means nothing, but have pets and a two month old baby. I know nothing about electrical issues just worried if I leave and leave my pets there is the possibility of this thing catching fire.......I at this point think my husband needs to move my trailer or maybe even better yet just get my a new one while everything is still working......

Some times I tend to give up when I feel like I am running around in circles the invert looks fine all wires look good....this is such a mystery when right now everything is working fine but at 3 am power went off the main ac and everything in living kitchen area was not working but lights tv and ac upstairs would still work....just doesn't make sense.
