Loud vibrating furnance

Hey guys.. these past few mornings have been cold. I had been turning the central heating furnace on in the morning and it has been fairly quiet. I could hardly hear it at all.

Today, I turned it on, and underneath the refrigerator where the unit sits, has a very loud vibrating sound. The blower is still working and the heat is still working, but it is EXTREMELY loud and vibrating the entire camper.

Any suggestions on what it could be? Since I bought the trailer, the heat has been on for maybe 10-15 minutes max. 5 minutes each morning. Its a 2007 model.

Could it have sucked some gunk up into the blower or a fan got stuck?

I plan on disconnecting the gas and removing it later today to inspect it and see if any trash has been sucked into the unit. My brother in law is also an HVAC guy and might be able to help.

Why don't they use a mesh on the intake?

Note that your furnace does NOT have an air filter. Need I say more?

Guaranteed it's a mouse stuck in the room air blower wheel. Make sure you check the sail switch for damage while you have it apart. Sometimes the carcass hits it and bends the arm.

if you would use FRESH CAB and peppermint oil you mice would leave you alone. but if you think theres one dead in there better get him out now.

I'm voting on a mouse being the cause. When the blower came on, it panicked and jumped into the squirrel cage blower wheel. He's dead by now and you'll need to remove him before he gets smelly.

I had that happen to my car a few years ago. Everything was fine when I turned it off to go into a store and do some shopping. 1/2 hour later when I came out, the dash shook so bad I had to turn the blower off. I had been using the a/c and had the blower on high. I stopped at a Walmart and bought a set of tools so I could get him out before we roasted. Darn little varmint!

Something got sucked up in the blower wheel.

We definitely have a mouse problem. We live in the country where field mice are inevitable.

Likely a mud dabber wasp nest on the combustion blower wheel. They can get in thru the combustion air intake and exhaust ports and it doesn't take them long to build a nest.

Maybe a mud dauber building nest - check/clean fan blades.

You may have had a mouse build a nest in one of the squirrel cage blower wheels. If it didn't cover the complete surface of the wheel, the fan could still be partially working. If it's a Suburban, you have to remove it and take apart to get to the blowers. If you find nest materials in the blower which circulates the air through the trailer, you may have a mouse problem.
