Hi all,

Just wondering how many Rv'ers out there fly radio control planes, heli's or quads? I'm heavy into quads flying with my Gopro camera.

Would like to hear about some of the places ppl have flown, some of their experiences, and see some of the pics taken, if any.

Just wondering....

Enjoy the Journey....

Hershey, take a good look at the screw in mount at the back of the motor where it connects to the X mount on your Visionare. Mine, almost brand new, unscrewed and the motor hung by the wires and pretty much totaled the plane.

Started flying an indoor heli (Blade MCX2) a year ago. Just yesterday I got an outdoor copter (V912). It should be a fun outdoors activity. Those small Li-Po batteries are incredible.

Camping and Rc glider and power for years, for fun and pylon competition with my son. Have not flown for about 8 years now, keep thinking I need to get back to doing it.
My shop is packed with kits, planes and building stuff.... The world of ARF's and electric is making me think I will sell everything and do electric and gliders.
Sad all my radios are outdated...

They are having a fly in from all over the country here tomorrow,.....or was it Sat ?
It would sure be nice if they ran this event two weeks earlier on the last weekend of the show. They would probably double the attendance.

I've been flying RC for close to 30 years. Mostly into the big stuff now, 40% and 50% planes.
Every year since 2008 I drive to Lakeland, Fl. and fly at an event there in Oct.
Last couple of years I took a 40% Waco..76lbs.. with a 400cc Moki 5 cyl. radial, swings a 40x18 prop. Takes me 7 days to drive there, spend 4 days in Florida and drive home again.....lots of fun.
It lets me do my 2 favourite things, camping and RC flying.

I use our rig to attend numerous flying events around Alberta. My two passions are camping and r/c planes and they go very well together. I fly mostly larger scale aerobatics, but I love elec powered gliders, and indoor foamy planes.

I like the new places in which quadrocopters allow video cameras.

But I imagine a point, where enough of them could make one dream of using them as target practice.

Heres what I would suggest as a really good quad that you won't outgrow in a few weeks.
I have the F450 quad with NAZA, GPS, controls and it will do some amazing things...about a thousand dollars invested in it to date. Now they come out with very good quality quads that do everything my quad does for aobut $400 tgo $450 dollars. They have return to home, gps and is GoPro ready.
Take a look at http://www.horizonhobby.com/products/350-qx-bnf-with-safe-technology-BLH7880.
I fulltime and carry way too many electric planes and quads. No helicopters, they cost too much to repair...and when I fly them, they will need repairs.
Just picked up the VisionAire 3D. Its the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

Planes. Currently have 1 flyable and 3 in various stages of construction.

Everything from small foam electrics to 1/3 scale Cub.

I never mastered the choppers on the sym so was smarter than to buy one. A friend flys quads and likes them for photo runs but they are somewhat limited for entertainment (aerobatic) flying.

I'm interested in the new Quadracopters. Can anyone suggest a fairly cheap one that will actually work outdoors? A guy at the park was flying a DJI Phantom that was excellent, but way too expensive at $400 plus for their base model.
