Great question.
But I see that there is a Teflon silicone blend. Now what? :? Is this a miracle product that solves all your dry lube needs all in one can?
Teflon silicone blend Description says it's a general purpose lube that "Waterproofs, protects, lubricates and preserves rubber, plastic, vinyl, leather, metal and wood"
From a chemical engineering application perspective, is there a difference between Teflon, silicone and PTFE is one better or worse in some uses? Does one last longer or adhere better?
I don't know what a TT manufacturer says to use, but I'd rather use something like Protect All slide seal lube that is known to be okay. But then, Protect All doesn't say what's in it. If it's specifically formulated for slide seals, maybe there's also something in it to help preserve the rubber?
