Looks like backupgenerators.com is now selling the new champion inverter...
Too much $$$ IMO.
A question here: It has been reported this Champion Inverter is on hold but, this Sand Point, ID outlet continues to seem to accept preorders? Anyone have any info'??
If they come in at around $600 and are reliable and quiet, may be the way to go.
Availability: Coming Soon - Preorder Now

Anywho, hopefully us guys w/ our noisy Champions can get along with you hot shots w/ your nice quiet Hondas & Yammys (right now I can only dream). Better start loading up early so I can get a decent spot before the onslaught. Thanks for all the stories & insight. It keeps us all honest & humble anyway. Good luck out there.

Getting back to the original topic, I just don't think saving a couple hundred dollars for a new Champion inverter generator (compared to a Honda or Yamaha) that is new and unproven is something I would be interested in.
The original Champion's could be often found in the $200 - $300 range, which is a substantial saving over the $1700 price tag of twin Honda's. I would be willing to take a chance at that price, but I don't have any interest in the inverter generators at their present price, at least not until they have been around a few years to find out their longevity and reputation.
