So we've been boondocking for the past two weeks around Yellowstone and Grand Teton and I seem to be having an issue with my water pump. It seems has been very intermittent but seems to be getting worse. It seems to be cycling for the briefest of moments, over and over. At first I noticed it doing it two or three times every thirty minutes or so but recently it has been doing it almost constantly but still intermittently. If cut the pump off and then back on it will usually stop. Then it may start again the next time we use water from any fixture or it may go a day before doing it again. I have linked to a sound file of what it sounds like when it is doing it over and over and over.......

I've checked for any leaks either from the fixtures or any plumbing I can see and all seems to be good. So I'm thinking the problem is with the pump itself, especially since cutting it off and then back on seems to fix it, usually. From reading a bit it sounds like it may be the check valve in the pump, or maybe the pressure sensor?
I have a 2003 Shurflo 5900-0211. Looking around it appears that a rebuild kit is not available anymore and neither is the pump itself. Other than this, the pump has been decent if a little loud and jerky sometimes. I think the 4048 is the current replacement for it.
Is there anything else I should check before I go ahead and replace the pump? I'm really not looking forward to it, it's a really tight area. Just getting the model number was a feat. If replacement is the way to go do you think I should go with the 4048 or do you have any other recommendations?
As always, thanks for the advice,
