Starting?

Buzzards (buzzkills?) have been circling since Elon announced he was going to run a vehicle on laptop batteries.... after all that would be impossible.

No they didn't. He had money back then and a plethora of investors. Both of which he is currently running out of at a rapid pace. I think you are confusing the buzzards as being deniers instead of the financial troubles that I am referring to. Deniers don't kill a business, running out of money does.

This conversation has clearly left the adult room. It’s getting harder and harder on this forum to have polite and civil discussion without turning to name calling and grade 7 retoric. I think it’s time to take a break from this forum.

Cheers all. Wishing many safe happy miles to everyone.

Any conversation with extreme fan boyism clears the adult room. Extreme fan boys bypass all logic and reasoning and instead make their arguments based on what best paints their favorite thing in a positive light because that is all they choose to believe. They refuse to see anything negative about their favorite even if the truth is right in front of them, but that is all they look at when it comes to things that aren't their favorite. Moderate fan boys can be reasoned with though. Sort of like politics, but with brands.
Pot calling the kettle black.

I have seen progress out of Tesla and even commented on and commended them for it. I still see progress, but my industry and financial experience(along with the many other financial analyst) tells me that the progress is not fast enough for the bills that are coming due. That about explains the state of the coal industry.

I agree to a point. The coal industry is in a slow downward spiral, but increased energy demands from electric cars in places that cannot afford to build new plants along with lower oil demand may keep it going a bit longer than some analyst think. Last I checked, there are still about 400 coal power plants in the US and about 30% our energy comes from coal.

Natural gas power plants have increased rapidly over the past decade as the number one power source over coal to about 35% today, but that is mainly due to fracking technology in the oil industry making it worth extracting. Without that, coal would still be the number one energy source for the US. If you decrease oil consumption by increasing electric vehicles, it might have an adverse effect of increasing the power coming from coal since it will make it it cheaper than natural gas.

Here is a lighter worded article on the same subject. Fossil fuels still have some life and may not be that that detrimental to the environment.

Lots going on and one that might extend the life of ICE's is the latest and greatest CO2 recovery system and that they can recombine it to form ICE fuel

ZERO sum game in the carbon fuel...no crude required in this process...but it is new and will take many turns during it's maturation curve...but...tons of R&D money is pouring in...

This will stall/slow the transition to EV's...my bet is that the main stay will be hybrids. That gets much larger mileage range over pure EVs

EV only firms will suffer if they don't have the $$$/resources to weather that

FYI for folks who wish to read up on this...search using: "co2 capture and conversion" will beget tons of reading material

This is a good one which explains that chemistry

The first is pure speculation from a short seller that can't read a financial statement or understand the related terms.

Second is (IMO) more of a reflection on how desperate Nikola has become over the doomed hydrogen path Nikola is on.

Third is not even a Tesla employee but an employee of a subcontractor.

Forth... So far ALL these accidents from people misusing the autopilot have been dismissed.

Another 18 months and the first Semi should get delivered.
Model 3 production continues to ramp up.
Even the base model (so called unicorn) is scheduled for production soon. For new reservations as of today it will still be a year away as the wait list is still long.

Since the original Roadster EVERYTHING has fallen apart for short sellers and the naysayers. Give it time and the truth will emerge.
