2020 Ford F350 weight

Anyone here have a 2020 F350 diesel? I am trying to find out if the weights Ford posts for these trucks are accurate. Ford lists them as ranging from 5,878 to 7,737 lbs. If these trucks are heavier than what Ford posts then the payload will be affected.

Not a ford comparison, but works with any brand. , Noted, empty wieghts based on how many options you have, cab sizing etc
3 of us had 05 dually crew cab GM trucks. On weighed 7200 lbs, a fairly stripped rwd model. Mine 7400 lbs, an LS 4wd. The third was over 7800 lbs, 4wd full leather pkg etc.
Even a higher gvwr might not be your friend. Saw a 2018 F250 advertised the other day, has a 10k gvwr. Says it weighs 6200 lbs empty, payload 3800. My current rwd gm c2500, gvwr 8600, weighs 4800 lbs, payload 3800 lb. My 05 dually listed above, 11400 gvwr, 4200 lbs of payload.
Any truck, the options alone can add over 2000 lbs to any particular body style.
If you looking at brochure wts, unless you have a truck like my c2500 with three options vs base, it will weight more than brochure weights!
Trust ALL of us on that!

Whether you need a dually or not depends on the trailer you're considering. A triple axle 18000 lb GVWR 5ver might have a relatively light pin weight and be easily hauled with a CC shortbox 4x4 Platinum F350. My 2017 F350 SB CC 4x4 diesel Platinum weighs 8320 lbs with the driver on board and 3/4 tank of fuel.
2023 F350 SRW Platinum short box 4x4.

Before getting a 5th wheel I never hauled anything other than 15 foot fishing boat and occasional hay wagon.
I retired bought an 09 F350 DRW 4x4 6.4 and a 14,900 gvw 5th wheel within the first 500 miles I knew the DRWs were the right choice.
We have upgraded with rig in sig and I am pleased with the setup. I believe Ford has a newer transmission than the '17' had. For me the 4:10 rearend makes this combo a pleasure to drive at 27,600 GCVW.
I doubt that you would need 4:10s but we do the mountains and have pulled 10% grades with no problems.

Because we paid cash and were out of state I had the document of origin in order to register my '17' F350 4x4 DRW CC 6.7 KR shipping weight was just under 7900#. The original went to the state but I made a copy. I know where it is but too lazy to dig it out. According to door sticker GVW 14,000 but my carry capacity is listed 5603. I assume the truck was shipped with minimal fuel so there is still a couple hundred pounds deference. Can't imagine that the dealer added anything other than a full tank of fuel and window washer.

What you need to know is, empty SRW crew cab HD truck is aboout 2500-3000lbs on rear axle (wet weight), drw is a few hundred more. ANd that is the primary consideration for available payload.
If you're splitting hairs, either you don't understand that concept or you're a person who believes the OE payload stickers without knowing why and in that case, get teh dually.

If by "good size" you mean anything over 15,000 lbs. GVWR, you'll need a dual rear wheel. Diesel drive trains are quite a bit heavier than gas drive trains (and 4WD adds even more weight) - which reduces the payload.

The reason for the range in weights and payload is because there are so many configurations and models. The higher up the line you go, the more they weigh because it has more stuff. Long bed vs short bed, crew cab vs extended cab etc.

Here's the specs from Ford across all configurations. I would imagine it's fairly accurate.

There is a huge difference in a F350 SRW 2wd work truck std cab vs a loaded out F350 DRW 4wd crew cab long bed truck.
So what you got ??

Check with the truck camper guys as their more into knowing truck axle and gross weights.

just go to a scale and weigh. The city dump may have one and it wont cost to have them weigh or just a couple of $$ same for a cat scale. My 04 weighs in at around 7500lbs (with tool box and misc stuff inside and 1/2 tank fuel).
