33gal freshwater, about how long will it last?

As we prep for our first trip (just a weekend, we're beginners), can anyone give an estimate for how long 33gal will last? wife and I, and 2 dogs. 2days? 3days? obviously depends on how much we use, but a rough estimate would be appreciated

My kids and I could get 3-4 days out of our 50 gal tank with some left over. When my wife comes along, we're lucky to get through the second day. She's constantly washing her hands, or scrubbing this or that. I love camping with her, IF we have hookups. Boondocking results in arguments. She looks at me like I'm crazy when I suggest she doesn't need to keep washing each and every thing. THAT'S why people can't give you a good idea how long your water will last. I've done things to stretch it, like bringing a couple 6 gal water containers, replacing the shower head with an oxygenics, and using a wash tub in the kitchen, which then gets emptied into the toilet, saving gray water capacity.

I will give you my needs.I can comfortably go 5 days on 26 gallons.I carry bottled water that I use for cooking generally 2 gallons. The tank water is for showers, washing dishes etc.Do not have an animal. All my camping is done at National Forest campgrounds, most do not have potable water availability.

my wife and i used about half of our 30 gallon tank on our last 4 day trip and we made no effort at all to conserve water.we were testing the limits to see how long the water/battery would last.

For us its about 10 gal per day with washing dishes, a few toilet flushes and occasional navy shower. We only have a 30 gal tank so I have a 6 gal container for refills.

Maybe a stupid question, but why are black water and gray water tanks separate? Why not just 1 larger tank for both? I'm sure there's an obvious/important reason, but our homes/sewers handle both, so why not just a "waste water" tank?

nevermind, found another thread with this topic

Another case where people offer an opinion without all the facts. The first thing to do is to determine how much water is actually available. (Fill some buckets in the shower/tub to verify) I have had some rated at forty gallons that sputtered out after twenty five. After that, one can make estimates based on five gallon per shower, etc.

My wife and I, along with our 12 year old can make 2 weeks on 80 gallons. We are conservative and take Navy Showers every other day.

We have boondocked up in the hills for up to 6 days with our 35 gal fresh tank, but we do bring 2 extra 5 gal jugs and if we feel the need we have a blue 15 gal jug. Only time we have used the 15 gal is when our friends ran out and needed more.

Three, maybe four days with showers for the two of us every other day. When you go to take a shower, run the water into a clean pitcher until it gets hot enough to get into the shower. Save the clean water for other things.

After doing dishes, dump the soap water down the toilet. You've probably been conserving water so the extra water with the soap in the black tank will help it and keep your gray tank from filling up too fast.

Awesome suggestions. Dry camping at the Pocono Raceway soon. I have a 45-gallon FW tank. My GF's only requirement is that she can shower (me showering is optional, evidently). Sounds like we can make it through the weekend.

Beginners? Less than a day.

My wife and I? A week.

Using gloves for some things and handi-wipes (Wet Ones) after other things helps cut down on running the sinks for hand washing.

We're heading out on a 3 night dry camping weekend with similar tanks and will do fine with us likely taking 1 Navy shower each during the weekend.

I bring an empty 6 gal water container on trips like this in case I need to refill, but haven't needed it (yet). I also have a Water Thief in case I can run a hose from a spigot without threads.

There are all sorts of tips available for efficient water us. Like running the shower head into a tub while waiting for hot water, then using that tub to wash or rinse dishes later.

I prefer to be able to use water normally. I don't mind putting money and effort into dumping and replenishing it without having to drag the coach to the dump station.

thanks for the advice. i was planning on having a couple 5 gallon backups the first few times, til we get an idea of what our usage is like. the tips for conserving (both fresh water and space in the gray water tank) are certainly helpful for beginners. im sure there are others who are just starting out and these types of topics are always good info! i suppose a better topic title might be "stretching every drop" and other advice for saving water/tank space etc.

My ex went through 40 gallons a day. She would leave the faucet running as she did dishes, washed her hair every day and left the water on the whole time, etc. I had to hook up and go find water every day we camped while she took the kids to the beach.

BUT I'M NOT BITTER!!!
