4 years 6.7Powerstroke update

It’s been 4 years since I bought a brand new 2014 F350 4x4 long box SuperDuty with the 6.7 Powerstroke. I have been pulling a tt, equipment trailer and a horse trailer sometimes with 4 horses in it all over the south west. Before buying this truck I had a 350 with the 7.3 in it and thought that was probably the best truck Ford would probably ever make but this 6.7 with 102,000 miles on it has beat the 7.3 in every way !!! I’m getting on average 18 to 20 mpg empty and 11....12 loaded . The truck as only been back to the dealer once because of a check engine light, turned out It was because I didn’t plug the air cleaner sensor back in. I like all kinds of trucks but I would buy one of these again in a heart beat !!

Over the past 8 months or so my 2012 6.7 has had out of warranty emissions issues to the tune of $1800.00 for 2 issues. Had the first one corrected for 1000.00 and when the second came up I decided to make it shed some weight and had a pacemaker implanted. She is now VERY healthy and doesn't eat as much either!

Wrong! Pick the one your wife likes that you can live with!

That's why I drive a White Platinum rather than the red lariat I wanted.

We know now who has the best taste in the family, white is the only way to go . 🙂

Yes the 6.7 has been a great engine thus far. I don't recall a lot of issues with them at work. I plan to ask our lead mechanic one day of the most common issues with them if any. I like the fact of diesels getting better overall since the emissions issues at times was a deal breaker for me personally. I have had to deal with those issues at work and when trucks are constantly having issues, well it's not good in emergencies. I think Ford hit a home run with this engine for sure.
A truck, a camper, a few toys, but most importantly a wonderful family.

My truck will be six years old in 2 months with 141k miles and 811 idle hours. To date I've replaced EGT sensors and a Nox sensor as repair items. Daily driver, grocery getter, pulls a tractor/utility trailer, camper, boat, short trips, you name it it's the main vehicle my family prefers to ride in. The 6.7PSD has no oil leaks, axles and transmission are bone dry.

my previous 2011 F250 6.7 had about 120k miles and zero issues. It would still be with me but we really needed a more capable truck, which pushed me into a DRW. But I think all 3 brands have improved in reliability to the point it is just pick the color you like.

Ford truck guy-- We are in same boat pretty much. Got ours in Dec of '14 and just over 37K.

Glad you guys haven't had any problems but if you really want to talk reliability, come back and post when there is a 1 and then a 2 in front of those mileage numbers.

If I so far can get 250K out of my IH 6.0L I'm pretty sure Ford's 6.7L will do just fine. Heck, looking at local used trucks in my area I see LOT's of 1st gen 6.7L trucks hitting well into that range already.
