Visited with Bill Penney at Truck Camper Warehouse this afternoon and put down a deposit on a 2014 Arctic Fox 1150. We should get a firmer date in a few weeks once Northwoods has the build scheduled, but Bill is guessing we'll be able to pick it up in March or April.

Here's a list of the options: Dry bath, Fox Landing, power awning, thermal pane windows, replaced microwave with cabinet door for more storage, 150 watt solar panel, AGM batteries. We did not order AC or a generator - we will get those later if we decide we need them.

This will be our first RV so needless to say we are very excited and can not wait to pick it up in the spring. I want to thank all of you for the information you share. I have spent many hours reading posts and the knowledge gained from this forum has been extremely helpful to us as we figured out exactly what we wanted.

Wish you great camping with your new Arctic Fox. We have had our 1150 dry bath unit for 6 years now and it has been fantastic, really hate to put it away for the winter. We camp from mid April until the first of November. We do have a generator but have never used it as we mostly camp in state parks and the ones around here do not allow generators. Unless Arctic Fox has changed the weight distribution you may find the center of gravity is just behind the rear axle which slightly unloads the front axle, approximately 65# per the scale. We have air bags with a built in compressor and they are separately adjustable; added Timbrens this past spring but removed them as they contributed to significant pitching due to the center of gravity issue. Spring 2014 will be a long wait with a new camper in the garage, but it will be worth it. Hope you enjoy it! Happy camping

Great Choice :B.

Our 1150 replaced a pop up camper so I think I know how feel. The wait is going to be hard though.

You will love your AF 1150. We ordered our 1140 winter of 2009 and got it around April 2010. Seems like Northwood builds the 1140/1150 models around Feb/March. Glad to see that Northwood has upped their solar output. It used to be 100 watt was the max. The Fox Landing is another nice option that Northwood offers. Much better than their old style drop down steps. You are going to have a long winter waiting for that new toy.

We are not getting the solar through Northwoods. Bill at TCW will install them once the camper is delivered. As far as I know, the max option that Northwoods offers is still 100 watts.

You chose well. The AF is a great 4-season camper. The Fox Landing is a great option. Much better than the scissor steps we have.

Celina,

Good on you to go to the TCW.

When you take delivery- if you want to travel a bit north- you are always welcome at our home. We are just north of the Franconia notch.

You done well!

AF nice campers and your option list sounds good too. Our last TC was 10 yrs old and we never used the micro once...never.
AGM's are the way to go.
No need for A/C in New England...did not have it on our last TC and did not get it on our new Eagle Cap from Bill Penney.
Portable genny a good way to go also...the only time we use genny is ski camping.

You have specced out a very nice unit, and Bill and Ryan are great to work with...congrats!
