Eco boost under 800 miles and had to be towed to dealer

Three weeks ago my dad bought a new F-150 eco-boost. He called me this morning and told me the dealership had to send a tow truck out to tow the truck in. It wouldn't start.

He told me was had a couple times last week where it didn't want to start and after attempted tries, it finally started. Yesterday he went out to start it and could not get the doors to unlock. When he finally did, different lights on the dash would intermittently go on. The truck would not start again and the blinkers and flashers would intermittently go on.

The dealer came out today with a flat bed tow truck. Got it started but could not get it out of park. They finally got in on the truck and hauled it away. Anyone heard of similar issues?

I have a feeling he is going to wish he had purchased a 2014 silverado.

I note most of the posts here are from non-Ford owners. 😉

If it were someone that has posted smack about the EB then I would agree but this guy from what I can find has not. So maybe just maybe he was looking for some information and not trolling. I know some think if anyone posts something negative adout their Kool-Add flavor they must be a troll right?

Why was his post "lame lame lame"? He was looking for a solution to a problem for his Dad. Happens almost every day on this board. I bet had he left the last sentence out "I have a feeling he is going to wish he had purchased a 2014 silverado." The Blue bloods would not have gotten their panties in a bunch.

God forbid anyone would say anything bad about a Ford! If you do this is what they get

He wasn't looking for a solution for his Dad. His Dad already had the solution (he had it towed to the dealer).

Same to you on the Silverado thread, right Don? Those that live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones sir. By the way, I don't own a Ford either.

That is EXACTLY the reason that Ford guys are getting annoyed. The OP wasn't asking for any help, wasn't asking for anyone to diagnose the problem... he simply came on here to bash the Ecoboost and throw some shots at "dumb ole dad" who is probably gonna wish he bought a Silverado. The entire purpose of this thread was to bash the Ecoboost.

God forbid someone post about how "stupid" Dodge is using a VM diesel instead of the Cummins in their new truck and I bet you'll post some replies too.

You know you can just hit the back button and not read it if it bothers you that much, right spoon?

Try it, you'll like it!

To the OP...don't post******like that again until you have real facts. That was not cool.

how right you are lame lame .............but look at how many pages it went?
A lot of posters get off on starting a thread that goes on and on ,just by using a provocative
'catch phrase' in the title.

our "youngsters" are guilty of this .

And when have facts been a prerequisite for a post on this board?

I had a new 2005 Nissan Pathfinder. It stranded me at the Mother-in-laws. Anywhere but there!!!:E

The battery's cell was shorted, causing all kinds of electrical gremlins.

The reason was that the tension arm for the alternator was bad and wasn't charging properly and warped the battery cell from running the voltage to low.

Nissan did fight me on fixing the tension arm and replacing the battery under warranty, saying it wasn't covered. Finally they fixed it saying it was under a good will gesture. My @ss, just Nissan trying to get out of their responsibility. Just another reason I won't buy another Nissan.

That's the first time I've ever heard of a battery problem in a newer Ford. All my Original equipment Ford batteries have lasted 7 to 9 years before they had to be replaced. I guess one out of a million ain't too bad.

WOW !!! You've actually owned a million new Fords? That's what your post implies.

So what I gather from all this is that Ford is now building jets with bad batteries from China?

I had to take my Ecoboost to the dealer twice yesterday! I'm about fed up with this sorry truck.

:W Not really. The first time was for a complimentary oil change, the second was because the tech didn't properly refasten one side of a rubber guard that was hanging below the engine. I took it back, they fixed it promptly and apologized sincerely.
