Goodyear wrangler LT tires from Walmart.

I haven't purchased the tires yet but I like the price, country of origin (U.S.) and the tread design. These are Wrangler Trailmark tires, Trailmark being a Walmart brand, that are sold in Canada and the U.S. but when I questioned the warranty I was told that my Canadian purchased tires would probably not be honoured at U.S. Walmarts. Did not make sense to me, so I e-mailed Walmart with the warranty question and received back this response -- "This question falls outside of our writing guidelines and won't be posted--we hope you'll submit another question.
Any idea if this is a common practice at non-traditional tire stores like W.M., Sears, Costco etc.?
Thanks,
Warren.

They're made in the USA, more than I can say for the Goodcraps that are currently on my vehicle and came from a Goodcrap dealer.

MY concern would be that the tires are to a Walmart spec not the goodyear dealer spec.I just changed out the rear tires on my 2015 3500 Duramax-Michelin Ltx A2 oem tire-very poor wear. The michelin dealer stated theres no comparison in wear between oem-poor-michelin dealer- excellent.

The warranty issue may be more of a legal minefield than a Walmart problem. The US and Canada have different laws covering the consumer's rights under a warranty and that's probably where the difficulty really lies.

Even the Goodyear warranty specifically says it's a "nationwide warranty", not a "North American warranty". The US warranty isn't even equal in all States due to various State laws. That's also stated in their US warranty.

X 2. Why waste your time. You can probably get a better tire deal on a brand tire, at either Canadian Tire or Kal Tire in B.C.

Check the warranty, though before you buy.

Good Year builds these tire for Walmart,Costco etc to their specs. Those tires are not available at your local Good Year dealer. Warranty with be through the store you purchased from.

It was explained at WM store here that they operate as separate entities
still doesn't make it seem right though. I can understand when it comes to appliances, electronics, etc.(stationary items) but tires are a mobile item. I am thinking that a phone call to Goodyear may shed a different light on warranty issues. In the end, the Wranglers being made in the USA, will be the main factor.

Thanks everyone & cheers,

Warren.

The two companies Walmart USA and Walmart Ca are mostly likely different corporate entities so the failure of cross support isn't surprising. I can tell you for sure that if you buy electronics or a camera in country A and take it to country B that the warranty will not be honored by the country B's company. You'll see products sold in the US that originate in another country (usually Asian) and the warranty is void, that is called a gray market item. This is common with photographic equipment.

Trailmark is a Goodyear line of tires available at many places other then Walmart. Costco for one.
I don't see why a Goodyear warranty would not be good in either Canada or US.

walmart.com (US) has a warranty link toward the bottom of the tire's page. If you can find that on the Canadian walmart.ca, you will have the written terms of the warranty.

That is probably the best info you will get on warranty.

Ask your local Walmart if they honor the warranty on Walmart tires purchased in the US. The policy should be the same.
