How heavy are you towing with your Ram 6.4

I currently have a V10 excursion with 4.30's that we may be replacing. The X tows my 10,500 TT quite well. I' m wondering how the 6.4 Dodge would do towing this setup.

I have come across a couple of 2014 2500 Dodges with the 6.4 that have caught my eye. I have read where some of the 2500's have a 4000 lb payload. This seems quite high. For those of you with 6.4's, how heavy of loads are you towing and how does the truck handle it? If we decided to move up to a 5th wheel in the future, how much more could the 6.4 comfortably tow?

Yes, apparently they use some very strange search algorithms on this site. I did an advanced search for Ram 6.4, using all the words, in all forums for the last 12 months and came up with one result that was a post having to do with computers.

I never have had luck searching on here either. Out of curiosity I just searched Ram 6.4, 6.4 hemi, and Hemi 6.4 and didn't get squat either. Dont feel bad OP

My friend bought a 1 ton 6.4, that carries a large cab over camper with power to spare, and a good ride. You just need $$$$$$.
Not the engine you're inquiring about, but our 2010 5.7 Hemi 4 door does a good job pulling a 9000 lb. trailer. Just add gas!

I plugged Dodge 6.4 into the search and it came back with 0 matches. As far as adding gas, I have a V10 X with 4.30's now. Gets about 10 mpg letting my son drive it to school and 7.5-9.0 towing. Doubt the 6.4 would do worse than those numbers

You came back with 0 matches because there is no "Dodge 6.4" anymore. It's "Ram" or "Hemi".

I recently spent some time looking them and there are plenty of sites to visit. Also look at the Ram truck forums. Decent info there as well.

Just curious why you wouldn't consider a diesel? Especially if you are thinking of switching to a 5th wheel in the future..

I've never seen a 2500 6.4 with 4000lbs for payload. I frequent the lot at my dealer when getting my oil changed. Open some doors and look at stickers for giggles. Most 2500 6.4s have 3000lbs+/- and 3500s with the CTD have near 4000lbs or more. Can't remember if I ever saw a 3500 6.4.
