I upgraded to a 2015 Silverado 2500 HD Diesel!

We bought our 2015 Viewfinder Signature 32rlss January of 2015. Been towing it with a 2013 Silverado 1500 CC 4x4 5.3 with tow package. Per CAT scales I was right under, at, or over depending on how I loaded the bed for the trip. New we would end up with a HD at some point and planned to by the end of this year.

Well we found a used 2015 with only 13,000 miles on it and couldn't pass it up. Worked a great deal and took it home Saturday.

Love it and can't wait to tow our camper on the 17th if this month to Paynes Prairie State Park for our first trip withr the diesel! Really looking forward to the more controlled ride, power, exhaust brake and room for the kids and wife. Man this truck is so much quieter inside than the 2013! It also honestly rides I think a bit smoother than the old truck.

One question about the duramax, when putting around in parking lots I notice the engine will sometimes sound much louder and present than others. All this while barely accelerating. Is this normal?

Well it was a Wonderful relaxed trip to Paynes Prairie State Park yesterday. Granted no big mountains but more hills than a lot of Florida and the truck did amae. Never shifted out if 6th when running.

I sure miss having towing mirrors.... New GM towing mirrors going on next week. Witht these little mirrors, I felt like they can off my wife's Jetta!

Glad to hear the sounds are normal and I was thinking it was the fan yesterday as it happens more so after longer periods of idle.

Thanks and sure am enjoying it!!

Our truck had the wimpy mirrors on it when we bought it. I had the dealer make me a deal to install some towing mirrors. Other than massive power, the factory break control and factory tow mirrors are are the BEST!

That's a nice looking set up. We have a similar set up with a 2013 Denali Duramax pulling a 24' Creek Side trailer. All of your praises regarding your rig is just how we feel about our set up. Up hills in 6th gear is amazing!

The engine fan makes quite the racket when it kicks on also.

Another attention getter is when the rpm jumps to 4000 while using the grade braking on a steep downhill.

Well I adjusted the sway pro hitch this weekend, getting ready for first trip with new truck this Thursday to Paynes Prairie State Park.

Took her for a drive and oh man was it nice!!!! The increased stability over the 1500 I had before was amazing. The engine grade shifting and exhaust brake were outstanding! Brakes hardly had to work on tow vehicle or trailer. I was also surprised at how smooth the trailer brakes were with the built in brake comptroller. I thought my Tekonsha was supposed to be the best. It worked but this is leaps and bounds smoother. The duramax power was out of this world compared to my 5.3. Really nice staying in 6th gear for overpasses that I used to have to drop to 3rd to maintain speed.

Overall I am incredibly happy and can't wait for the upcoming trips to come!

That's how we felt! Wanted used if possible, but everyone usually had higher mileage on it already, or was a work truck addition.

Jumped on this one, and luckily for us it was outfitted pretty much exactly how I was going to order it.

Wow, a one-year old used diesel? That's almost like a unicorn in some parts of the country.

Around here, a one-year old used truck costs more than a new one with discounts. Crazy used truck market.

Congrats!

I love my Chevy HD truck ("de-badged Duramax" a/k/a a gasser). I'm sure yours will be a pleasure to drive as well.
