HERE I am getting ready to move forward from my 2000 Dodge 2500 diesel with 245000 on the clock. Still looks and runs like a new one. The bottom dollar for the 2013 is $24000. One owner. I am really wanting to know from anyone that has the same year and can tell me the good , bad and ugly about this year truck.

buy it in person... don't deal with a third party unless its a reputable dealer.

Looks like a killer deal.

Thanks!

My money is on that being a scam.

I would agree a bit it is only an SLT, but does have drivers power seat, it is also only a 4X2.

By the Way, this truck was posted on Craig's list in Winston-Salem, wonder what is up with that?

Add says never driven in the snow, probably because it's not four wheel drive.
Seems like a dedicated rv rig.

Is it lowered? It looks super low.

Also 2013 2500 means it still has the old chassis and suspension.

Are those Iowa tags on that truck? Maybe it's seen some rough winters. Better check undercarriage closely for rust, etc. Especially the brake and fuel lines.

I think he means if the one you own now looks and runs like new then keep it.

If you buy this truck, plan on spending some time detailing the interior - looks like no pride in ownership to me. Does the guy have service records? Has it ever been waxed?

Good luck!

Check the idle hours. It is one of the menus in the gauge display. Stay away from anything greater than 20% idle hours. Preferably sub 15%. Make sure the water pump recall has been done. Drive it around long enough for it to get to operating temp to ensure head gaskets are not blown due to tuning. If coolant gets past 205F with normal driving and keeps climbing, then that is a sure sign. Use the exhaust brake a several times to make sure there are no VGT faults.

Ask when the last time the CCV filter was replaced(should be every 65k) and when he last time the trans filter was changed. If is over 150k, then the valve lash adjustment should have been done. This costs a few hundred bucks if you have someone do it.

If none of these pop up, then you have your self a nice rig there.
