Well I went to test drive the 05 Chevy today and did not like it at all. It looked good on the outside but the ride was rough and the front end felt a little squishy. They also had a 09 Ram 3500 on the lot but as soon as my family sat inside they all said no way. I was originally looking for something decent in the sub 20K range, but I'm a sucker for pretty white things so I ended buying a 2012 Ford F250 6.7 CC Lariat. Thanks for all the replies on the original topic.

Higher mileage in a Texas truck is waayy better than lower mileage in one from the rust belt. BTW, I had my newly purchased (at the time) 10 year old truck shipped up from San Antonio. I actually enjoy crawling under it to change the oil filter and seeing so little corrosion. With only summer duties, my truck has a good life.
I would never consider a 10 year old truck with 164,000 miles to be "High Mileage"! that is only 16,000 miles a year! Likely many of those miles are highway which is far better for the diesel than city miles short distance.
