Kids buying diesel trucks, jacking them way up, fartin around under the hood, hanging a set of huevos off of the bumper, is making finding a nice used diesel truck a real chore. Every dealership that sells trucks has these abominations in the lot. Where does a high schooler find $30,000.00 to drop on a truck?

Not to mention they put some of the ugliest ass wheels on along with fender flares that look like arse. Anytime I see "lift" or "level" on a used truck I bypass it. If you think the lifts or levels are bad, you should see some where they replace the factory radios or trim with "custom" made junk, and the work is terrible.

I know EXACTLY what the op is saying. It took me two years to find a laramie or longhorn 3500 dually 4x4 aisin, 4:10s, auto level , fifth wheel prep.. reno, nope, carson city, nope Towbin dodge las vegas?, nope, Mcpeek, anaheim, sacramento, nope nope nope!. Every darn truck was a short bed. Lots jacked up 20 feet in the air!. Went to DAVE SMITH Kellogg Idaho.. every dually was slt or tradesman!.Dave Smith has 400 trucks and not one darn thing im looking for. They did have two laramies, one aisin. No auto level or tow prep. He did have 5 KIDS trucks. Jacked up, big honking horny lookng rims and tires. Why does Ram make a truck capable of towing 30,000 lbs and NOT ONE DEALER CARRIES IT.. Finally found one with 1200 miles.. Sticker was 77400, bought for 61000!.. so it all worked out. Just took along time...

I bought one of those rich kids truck. Took the leveling kit, the oversize tires, wheel spacers and the push bar off. Now I have a pretty good low mileage truck still under warranty. Been having it for 6 trouble free years. Then you can put all the toys on line and make some money cause there is always a kid looking for toys.

Around here, the oilfields.
You can make $75-100k straight out of high school if you are willing to work two weeks on/one week off, bustin' ass work out in the middle of nowhere, twelve hour shifts, and the threat of being laid off every few years when the market goes bust.
Oilfield is paying better then when I worked derricks
$.85/hr flipping burgers OR $6.36/hr working derrick
Wasn't too tough of a decision.
Rent was $65/month and paid cash for my 1968 Charger and my 1966 Triumph
Lots of 'hot rodded' cars, trucks back in those days too
Just curious - was that '68 Charger equipped with the 360, 383 or, by chance a 440 CID with that delightful Hurst 4 speed quick shifter? Awesome memories I rekindle from time to time about my '69 Road Runner with the 440 6pack. SIGH! grumble grumble.
Cheers!
