My truck turned over 150,000 miles today....

Going 60 MPH over Snoqualmie Pass, pulling our 10,000 lb 5th wheel coming back from Wenatchee.

I bought this truck in 2004 with only 20,000 miles on it.

I figured up the fuel "economy" for this trip I got a whopping 7 MPG. The best I have done 8.5 MPG.

I paid it off in 2009 so I figure I can afford to pay at the pump.

I'm about 200 miles shy.....

My 2005 Ram has 92,000 miles on it and at the rate I drive it now since we bought a truck 3 years ago to retire it to a Sunday cruise it will take about 7 more years to hit 100,000. We normally average a new vehicle every year but I could not make myself trade my pre-emissions diesel with less than 100,000 miles and I still love the truck more than my 2016 Limited Mega. Lol

That is saying something! It takes a lot of work and money to keep a 6.0 powerstroke alive for 300,000. Lol couldn't resist. Hope you have had good luck with it and that I did not step on a nerve.

Been fortunate with my Ecodiesel so far have 225,000 towing AS TT & boats. If it broke it would likely be cheaper to pick up a used engine.

OP That 8.1 is a good motor hope you get another 150k out of her. I knew a guy who put a 500 Caddy in a rollback pickup and often carried one & towed another with it. He said the chevy 8.1 was a lot like it in chamber design fireing order etc and he had good luck with it. Did about the same as yours on fuel with a 800 Qjet

Nice!!! My old truck was a '00 Silverado 1/2 ton, 4X4. I sold it to my SIL in 2013, had just rolled 400,000 miles.
My husband laughed at me when he offered to buy me a "new" '02 Yukon, I didn't want to sell my beast, I wanted to get it to 500,000 before I got rid of it. **** kids getting bigger!!!!

Nice! Gotta love that big old 8.1/Allison combo. Treat her right and you know the rest.

"turned over". A term that only older folks likly know, who grew up prior to the 80s, back when odometers "turned"... when they were analog, and not digital.

Rolled over is another phrase to describe the same thing.

There's times where I wish I still had my 2002 2500HD with the 6.0L.

The 09 in my signature has a whopping 47,300 miles on it.

I recently returned from Rio Hondo, TX with my Coachman Denali 270 FK TT. My 08 Duramax turned 150,000 on the return leg. Averaged 11.7 mpg until I hit the mountains of Appalachia and the overall return trip mileage was 11.3 towing at 65 MPH.
