New to Seasonal Site.

Out of the blue we were called to check out a Seasonal Site. We had put our name on the list last year thinking maybe it would happen next year. But we lucked into a nice site and it was hard to pass on. We had to cancel some reservations and kept a few but come the end of June the TT will stay there. Wasn't planning on first trip till May so I'm going to have to work overtime to get the TT cleaned and checked out to get it to our site soon. Any seasoned campers who have seasonal sites willing to give some advice/tips to a newbie? Happy Camping, Dick.

We were able to get up to the TT tonight. Cover off, found one hole in it down along the bottom stabilizer nut wore a hole thru it. All appliances work and no leaks in plumbing. Slide is out and just a few more days and we'll be camping again. Just need to stock up the frig and pantry some clean up outside and some fine tuning to the site and we'll be good to go.Happy Camping

Our camper's in storage for another two weeks, but our site is in a county campground. We can cross country ski across it all we want, or have a picnic and a campfire, but it's just not the same shoveling a path through three feet of snow first. Hard to believe camping starts in 24 days. Fingers crossed.

We're able to go up anytime throughout the year but never make it up in the off season. Would love to one of these winters but will need to do more research on cold weather camping, although I would most likely go without using water... might make it easier. Electricity is on 24/7/365 but water's only on mid April to mid October. Any way... speaking of mid April ... a few of us "neighbors" are heading up next weekend to split wood for the season. The CG took a few trees down and left them for us so we're going to take advantage of the free wood. Reeeaaallly looking forward to getting this season kicked off.

We made the trip to to the campground Saturday. Got the cover off and the slides opened up. No signs of any winter visitors (critters), so I emptied the tubs that are stored there.
Our roads in the campground are not open yet. The snow is just melting there, so we, along with lots of our neighbors with the same idea, carted belongings to our sites by wagons. We had a group of friends over and had the first campfire of the season. Ahhh, the smell. ๐Ÿ™‚
Anxious to get back into the groove? Maybe a little. LOL

Our CG will let us walk in, but we cant bring anything in. No fires, and cant take anything out of the camper and leave it out until May 1st.
We can take our cover off, but thats about it.

Our CG opens May 1st. I hope!! Still lots of snow. Our site is in the pines, and I left the TT on site this winter. Headed up there mid month to see how she handled the winter. Keeping my fingers crossed theres no issues.

our season starts this coming weekend,I also planned on pulling the cover and getting things back in order this weekend but the weather put a damper on that for me also,I'm hoping to get to the campground one day this week after work and atleast get the cover off and get the fridge cooling, the rest I can do over the weekend while we are there camping.

New season starts next weekend,so we started the process of get the TT ready. We had hoped to get the cover off today but the rain, snow, sleet and wind put an end to those plans. But things will come together fast the next few days so all is good. Happy camping.

We had to close our up 3 weeks ago. It's strange being home for the weekend since we hadn't spent a weekend at home since May.

Glad you had a good season. We've really enjoyed our seasonal site for the past 5 summers. We're going to try to do a little traveling with our next summer though.

Well the end has come to the season. The owner was starting to blow the water lines out today at 1 pm, so we closed up , cleaned and winterized yesterday. Had a BONFIRE on Friday night to end the activities for the year, great weather and a real good time. Strange coming home on Saturday, but I think we need a break, too much of a good thing can spoil you. not really that long before we'll be back. We'll be able to go visit the TT when we want, or you can dry camp if your hardy enough. Really was a good decision to go seasonal.

We've been at our same seasonal site for 6 (or 7) years? At this CG, our 1st trailer was '93 Prowler. Our current trailer is '06 Jayco. After a while, we stopping counting the years. re: We simply enjoy and enjoy the good times. LOL! We plan to stay many more yearsโ€ฆ

At our seasonal camp site, there's a few family rules that "I set". They are:
- NO flower beds. Seasonal sites already have too much maintenance. LOL!
- Decking and shed is low maintenance materials.
- Decking and shed is designed / made to be disassembled in sections - to allow transport on flat bed landscape trailer (in case we move to a different seasonal site).
- NO "maintenance tasks" (like cleaning, waxing, etc.) on Sunday. Sunday is day of rest.
- Slide out's custom 4ft x 15ft hard cover is built in sections - for future disassemble and transport as well.
- When I cut my lot's little grass, I cut my neighbour's lot as well. If wondering, he's got knee replacements and it's our means of "giving back" to others. Others who need our help.
- When we have a camp fire, there's always full 5 gallon pail of water. Especially when kids are around the camp fire as well.
