From a guy who just traded in a F150 with an eco boost 3.5, I can tell you there is no comparison to a F150 in the area of towing. The eco boost makes its horse power at much higher RPMs. I loved my 2017 F150, and still think highly of the Fords 3/4 & 1 Ton trucks. Having said that, Nissan is on to something with this in between truck. I have always been a Ford guy, but this Nissan is no joke. It is just a lot more truck and a better puller than the new F150 HDPP. I think the F150 HDPP will find its nitch too. I will let you know if I feel the same way after May. I will be pulling my 34 tong pull travel trailer through the mountains. It is even heavier than the load in the video.
The XD is a good stout 1/2 ton truck plus you will like the low end grunt of the diesel.
The XD competes well with Fords F150HDPP package.
