Problem with most responses here are oils of the past with API CI4 plus and CJ4 oils that had plenty of Zinc and Phosphorous anti wear additives. With the implementation of the current oil API CK4 Chevron (Delo) and ExxonMobil (Delvac) chose to reduce Zinc and Phosphorous levels in order to be in line with the gas engine API SN specification. Having said that I would avoid these two brands for now.
Didn't Rotella T-6 reduce the Zinc and Phosphorus levels as well? If so how about the T-4 and T-5?

Rotella did not reduce the Zinc and Phosphorus levels in their T6 5W40 and their T4 and T5 engine oils. The reason is they decided to not make them dual rated for diesel and gas engines which IMO was a good decision.

I run Amsoil 5W40 Signature Series oil and a Donaldson Blue or Amsoil oil filter. Iโ€™ve used Amsoil for ove 30 years and I do an oil analysis every other change.

It doesn't get crazy cold or hot here and since the Cummins will happily go 500~1M miles on Dino, that's what I use. I tried syn for a few changes but saw no difference in mileage or anything else. Since I can't take advantage of it, it's just a waste for me to use syn.
