On the road with a Keurig Coffee Maker

I've already done the search and didn't learn much.

I'm taking a cross country trip with my tt and would love to take the Keurig from the house. Some say to dump all the water then refill it and flush. That's too much work. Can the Keurig be lashed down in an upright position with the tank less than full and bounce down the highway. I would like this unit for on the road when you want to get an early start and not mess with dumping and rinsing a pot let alone waiting on the pot to brew. I like a fast cup or two in the morning.

I have camped with the keurig and kept it in the sink. Latest toy, coleman propane drip coffeemaker.

We empty our tank and store the unit in the kitchen sink. Nothing stays on our counters, or shelves, even the shortest trip results in objects being thrown every where! Our Keurig stays in the camper for the duration of the camper season, we then bring it in the house for the winter, kids use it for hot chocolate. We always brew an empty cup after sitting between trips.

Ditto on the kitchen sink for all sorts of things. If you're concerned about it shifting, slip a towel around it and you'll be good. In both our HTT and TT, absolutely nothing is left on the countertop other than the sponge. Same for the bathroom....soap dispensers, anything and everything loose goes in the sink.

I use my mini-Keurig when we have power and I have a manual one for when we don't. It's a pretty cool device, it works as a coffee press but also takes Keurig cartridges.

I have a Tassimo coffee maker. When the fiancée moved in she brought her Keurig so my Tassimo got moved to the TT. I always put it in a cupboard when traveling. It's fairly easy to take it out and fill it when we need to use it.

We did 10,000 km last summer with one. It still works fine. We have some bungies and hooks in the wall to strap it onto the counter when travelling. We have had one bounce off the counter before we started securing it. The kitchen was right over the axles. We don't empty it for travel (but don't top it up right before leaving either). We do bring it into the house for the winter.

No inverter to run the Keurig. We run the 4000 generator. In the old travel trailer we ran a 2000 watt Yamaha generator. I believe it draws 1600 watts when heating.

Hi. From eveything I have read, it doesn't need to be flushed unless it sits for extended periods of time, like a week or so. Then, I do a flush and refill. Keep ours under the kitchen sink and never had a problem with it.
We use a stovetop percolator when boondocking.

As nomad297 said, location of your kitchen in relation to your axles is key. Forward kitchens ride much smoother than rear kitchens. Ours is forward of the axles, and things stay pretty much in place.

We do the same as OldGuy - DW empties it out of water as muchg as possible then dries it off and sticks it in a cupboard under the counter - safe and sound. When we get camping again out it comes and she does a quick flush and then it is ready for coffee. No problem and no damage.

We have unit with 10 cup reservoir we just move from counter to floor of unit before travelling. Never had any problems with it while travelling. We generally use bottled water for coffee so we don't want to pour it out before leaving.

we bought one for our TT and I called Keurig to ask about leaving it in the TT during the winter and how to empty the water inside the machine. they said no can do, it will always have water in it and it will freeze so you need to be very cautious with it. I carry ours under the sink and it rides there quite well.

We use the single cup Keurig. No water tank to mess with. Coffee brews fast. Wored so well in the MH that we ditched the big Keurig in our house and only use the single cup.
