Ordered a new truck to haul TC today

2018 XLT F350 4x4 Crew Cab 8' Bed

Supposed to be here in 6-8 wks.

Going to add Torklift tiedowns.

Going to use the factory 3" hitch and fabricate an extension.

Got 5th wheel prep package and plan on using the factory installed bed plug.

Not going with adjustable Rancho 9000 shocks this time. I got them last time and they worked great on my first two srw trucks, but they were a huge improvement on our last drw truck.

No air bags this time, may try stable loads or go with Timbrens again this time.

Our 2006 F350 did a great job hauling our Lance. I can't believe we've had that truck 12 years.

DEF is almost at every fuel station now in boxes inside the store. Been traveling with the new truck through Alaska and now through the southwest for almost a year and never had a hard time finding the 2.5 gallon DEF jugs. I used to carry a spare DEF in the basement but gave that up. Case of wine uses the same space.

new ones have a DEF gauge. IMO I find it easier to fill at the pump rather than using jugs but each to their own.

It is but I am rarely in places where there is a truck stop or an interstate when I need to fuel up and most rural or city stations do not have that option

That's the best solution. Oh, my truck doesn't use DEF, either. It is a 2010. 😉

Congrats on the new truck. When the DEF warning comes on I just head to the big truck lanes on our next fill up where the DEF is at the pumps, much easier than handling the cube and cheaper.

I've heard a lot of good things about the 6.7 trucks. My buddy bought one last year and he loves it. I also got 4.10 gears so I expect it to be a rocket as compared to our 2006. It was complicated ordering the truck because of all the different models, packages and options.
