I got fed up with delays and excuses from Rickson and I leave for a long road trip in two days so I canceled and had Les Schwab in Livermore order me 4 19.5 Vision rims and TOYO m143s in 245/70R195 90 psi front 100 rear. it drives great with no sway and I like the way it looks.

While I am a big fan of my Rickson 19.5" Rims and tires, I will concur that Buzzcut1 waited an inordinate amount of time. For me, time is not as much as a concern, as I am not planning any trip around the arrival of my set.

What is ironic, is Rickson actually shipped my rims and tires 3 1/2 weeks early. That's right. Earlier than the agreed (in writing) time of delivery. So that does happen. I had to cut my travels short and arrive in Denver, to pick up my wheels and tires before I had planned.

As I understand, Buzzcut1 ordered his rims and tires from Les Schwab and didn't deal with the Rickson group. But I am aware this is normal process for Rickson Wheels and Tires and makes no difference in how they allot their product.

I have never heard anyone having a problem with Vision, but I do understand that they are not manufactured specifically for Ford's offset. The person that talked to me about me changing my 19.5" rims and tires for a wider set, SirDrakeJr is no longer with us. But he had Vision wheels on his Dodge truck and loved them.

Me, I still would have no hesitation in purchasing Rickson again. But the time lag is a concern, to me.

Good luck Eric and you certainly will be safer for having them on your truck. Especially after you lost that one tire, recently.

At one time Rickson built their own aluminum wheels called Eliminators. I ordered a set for my 2004 Dodge RAM 2500. It took from May to November to get those. I moved them over to my 2008 and then bought a 2nd set of Eliminators off the Internet. When I traded trucks, one set went with the 2008. I still have one set.

Rickson builds steel wheels and resells Vision aluminum wheels (unless they are back into manufacturing aluminum wheels). I have owned two sets of the steel wheels but sold both of them.

My son can run the Eliminators on his Chevy 2500 when needed.

I considered buying my 19.5s from Rickson several years ago. The typical wait was 6 months. I bought from Les Schwab.

I would love to have a business that was backlogged 6 months for over 5 years. Something is not right. Other than backorder, I have never read a complaint.

How long was your, "a fairly long time"? I won't speak for Buzz but IMO, his wait went beyond rediculous. I ordered in May, was told on July 11th that it would be 2 to 3 weeks for shipment and I am still waiting for my wheels/tires.

If I didn't want the correct wheel offset so badly, I would've had a set of Vision's on my truck a long time ago.

Got mine two years ago, I ordered in February and were delivered in July, I don't recall the exact dates, getting old I guess. Could look that up if you like. I remember I made several calls checking on them. Buzzcut's wait time is obviously excessive. Good product poor production management.

Glad to see you got some 19.5's on there Buzzcut1, the light truck manufactures should offer them as an option. I’m still so impressed at the difference the 19.5’s made every time I drive my truck, I should have done it a long time ago.

Looks good Buzz,
what did you do re: a spare tire ? My concern is the limited slip as well as having the space to carry the same size tire under the truck in the OEM rack .

Bob

My old 16s are the same size diameter,It will do. A 19.5 just like I bought in will fit underneath too. I just didn't want to spend another $700+ for a spare

ok tnx. same dia. will work . Don't blame you for not spending $700 for a spare. I think flats are rare on 19.5's as someone stated.
Because you have a large camper, I guess you could always run the spare up front if you had to, keeping the 19's on back.

Good luck Buzz, stay safe , Bob

Good luck with your 19.5's really like ours. We have been on several long trips with our's, great piece of mind. It did take a bit for my Toyo 608Z's to break in but they are there now, I have rotated twice (5 tire rotation) I think these will last a long time!

The narrower tire will cut through soft surfaces more which is good in snow and bad in sand. The Vision rims are offset to the outside more, so the footprint is wider than stock but within the wheel well openings.

I run 80 PSI in the front and 110 PSI in the rear when I have the TC and trailer. Unloaded 75 PSI front and rear.

Boy, them wheels look waaaay too shiny. It sure is a good feeling hauling 2 tons of high centred stuff in your p/u box to know you have bomb proof tires and rims.

Show us some more pics when you get those puppies dirty.

Fire trucks...then this will be a caddilac compared to the LT tires...Still bet you a donut!!!

Spare question: If it was not the same size put the spare on front and front on back if the flat was in back or call AAA to come fix it under the RV tow policy. Flats on 19.5's on a pick-up pobabaly won't happen, if it does it will not get ruined like a 16 or 17" LT tire.

Happy driving ahead! Hey come north for a donut! :>) I'll throw in some coffee too. OH no you'll be buying!! HEHE!

I'm not sure if you have grooved pavement from heavy trucks, but if you do, that's when you'll notice it if it is going to happen.

I580 where I went out sees 11,000 trucks per day in each direction through Livermore. the Altamont pass section is getting rebuilt as the trucks have fractured the concrete slabs

I think Jim is referring to the ruts we end up with because of those damn studded tires. They're brutal, even on the concrete. Chip, chip, chip...away. Cross section of the ruts is 3", even 4" deep in areas. And since the majority of the vehicles running studs are cars/small trucks, the grooves are narrow. Driving a truck or a dually(no, not a SRW pickup) is brutal because of the channels.

The fractured slabs you mention suck. Any locals here fond of East Channel bridge (E/B 90)...? it's been sinking and falling west for years (decades). A sprung truck hitting it at regular speeds will cause the front tires to leave mother earth. Brutal.

Congrats on those sexy wheels... and to think of all that weight and no pooch 🙂 Now, that's HOT.

I run my spare with zero psi. Otherwise it will not with the Superhitch. I also have onboard air. I run 80 front, 110psi rear on load range G.
At the time Rickson was 6 - 8 wks wait minimum. Les Schwab was 2 days. My Toyo 608z tires took a few miles to break in.
