Aisin is available in the 3500 Pickup SRW/DRW and Chassis Cab. Not offered in 2500's.

By the way the Allison 1000 is not a medium duty tranny. I was built for pickups and other light duty applications. Got to get a 3000 for that rating. We will see what GM does to get back in the HP/Torque race.

Even the RAM in-house 68RFE is rated for more HP and Torque than the ally 1000.

The BK/bailout GM did stopped production of the class 4-7 trucks they offered. It was one way to cut costs etc. IHC toyed with buying the lines, but never did. The Contract with Izusu to build and market the LOC class 3-7 rigs also was severed. But recently re-signed if you will. So there may be a few class 4-7 rigs in the GM sales figures. Reality, probably very few.

SO yes, the GM sales figures will be low. Personally, If the list is one I have seen from "Light and Medium duty truck" which I have a freeby subscription too. The numbers are probably right. These figures are ment to show ONLY rigs in the 10,001 gvw to 32K gvwr ONLY!

I think it's kind of interesting that everyone is talking about the engines. I bought my GMC Denali based nearly entirely on the transmission. Strongest one available, bullet proof record. Engines? Actual the Allison 1000 has run out of gas at current Duramax ratings, and they have dropped out of the HP/torque race. The FORD Torque Shift transmission and the Aisin are both much stronger and very reliable.

Chris

That's good to know about the Torque Shift. I work for a company that has nearly all 6.7 Fords with their Auto Trans. Good to hear about the Aisin Tranny too? Is the Aisin Tranny available in the 2500/3500 trucks too?

Not the 2500's yet, but in the 3500's now...They need to put them in the 2500's to be more competitive there, but believe Ram is only one offering manual transmission in the 3500/3500 trucks. Some still like that option

Remember that GM does not currently offer a class 4 or 5. So the numbers you see are only the 3500. Still smaller than they should be, but they cant sell what they don't currently make. The GM/IH agreement should produce a good medium duty truck (I hope).

The Allison is an awesome medium duty tranny...I owned 5 Chevy's with the Allison, Four with the Duramax and one with the 8.1..Now Ram offers a medium duty tranny, (the Aisin), strapped to a medium duty diesel... I think this has helped Ram in the 3500/350 market. (They are also in the 4500's)

Well I looked under truckinginfo.com and I could not find that article that put Ram in front of Ford and GM in 250,2500/350,3500 class trucks.

last I saw was GM was pushing past Ford and Ram was a distance third. I like all three trucks and I would like to see that article.

250/2500 are class 2 trucks. This item is a comparison of 3,4 and 5 (350/3500, 450/4500, and 550/5500) series trucks. That is trucks that do real HD work. I think you have to move the scale all the way down to class 1(150/1500) to show Ford's much higher numbers.

Our snowbird park is full of 4th gen HD RAMs this winter.

Chris

According to 2014 sales numbers, Ford sold about 100,000 more 250/350 class trucks than Ram. I haven't seen 2015's numbers but I'm sure that they're not much different than 2014.

2014 Sales numbers
2015 Ford F-250, 6.7 PSD
2016 Ford Expedition, 3.5 Eco-Boost
2003 Ford F-150, 4.2 V6
Sandpiper 357 TRIP
