RV Cover for storage

Does any one here do that. I live in Texas and I don't want my new camper to fade over time like many TTs around here. I was wondering is it heavy or hard to lift it up and cover it? Which is a good brand and how do I get the right size?

We use the ADCO. Agree with soundguy, we only cover in the off season, which for us is the summer. We take in volunteers to help put on and take off, the 32' cover is heavy and cumbersome, hence why we only do it once a year.

Our first TT died from the sun (it did take 13 years), here in AZ it is hot and dried out all the plastics and vinyl and the expansion and contraction of the extreme temperature all 4 sides delaminated (no water ever got it). So when we bought our second TT the first stop down the block we bought the cover. I can say the cover doesn't last that long, again the heat dries it out so our last cover only lasted 1 season, we have to be very careful when pulling it off as not to put much stress on any seam. ADCO does warranty it so we just took it in and it was replaced.

I have been using an ADCO cover on my 25 foot TT since I bought it new. It sits in the sun and when covered you can feel the temp difference inside vs. not covered. It has a white reflective top. It does not rub the paint off the sides or cause any other damage to the TT. It does not tear to shreds if installed correctly meaning you properly secure it properly and pad the sharp edges and cover protrusions like downspouts with a tennis ball or pool noodle. And lastly, it is simple to put on and take off - I can do it in 30 minutes or less. There are videos on the ADCO site. The procedure I use is explained in the instructions. As stated, camping world sells them and you will be able to determine what size to buy by measuring your TT - again, directions online.

If you can afford covered storage great, but you still need to cover the tires.

I also wouldn't use my cover during the camping season ... WAY too much work to put it on and take it off on a regular basis but for winter storage the only thing better IMO is indoor storage. Can't comment on constant exposure to Texas sun as I don't live there but damage to the trailer finish by a cover rubbing has never been an issue for me in the nearly 10 years I've been using these breathable covers for winter storage.

We cover our TT after our last trip of the season. It is stored in the pine trees for the winter. The cover keeps the leaves, pine needles, snow and other duffle from setting on the roof. We uncover in the spring.

The cover came with the TT when we bought it used. Judging from the worn spots and tears, the original owner used it also.

Yes it can be a pain to put on and adjust.

So it would be better to pay more for cover storage? Cover storage around here is open sides, but with roof. Or I better off just park it in uncover storage and wax it from time to time.
Covered storage and wax it once a year is best. Sun will do a lot more damage then just paint and decals. Rubber roof and caulk not to mention tires and awning.

As a bonus you don't have to worry about hail damage.

I would suggest you just build a shed over it. Not real expensive. Have one over mine. Unrolled the awning last week. No water at all. The cover is open all round. It is the mid day sun that really hurts the finish. Even the wax has not been washed off the TT. Will be much easier to wax this spring

I bought a cover for my first RV, it lasted one season (wind) ripped it to shreds, also it was heavy and awkward to get on top (something I only wanted to do 1 time so I took it off. Now keep in mind this was a 30'unit, a smaller unit might be easier to cover. It was expensive, $300.
I store it in the winter to keep the Missouri Ice and Snow off of it. otherwise it stays uncovered, gets washed and waxed. Save your money, invest in a shed.

don't ask us. ask your RV builder. Mine says not to cover it at all. The rubbing creating by the wind is thought to do more damage than the weather. The paint is made endure on it's own. Condensation may also be an issue.

you can search here and you will find those in both camps. I think your manufacturer is the best place to help you decide.

If you decide to buy one, camping world has them and provides sizing. These go on sale from time to time so you might want to take your time.
