Can this cause a delamination, or worse a leak? The upside to this is I will be installing an awning right over it, so cosmetically, it'll be hidden. Should I bother getting it repaired or just fill it in with some Sikaflex and put the awning over it?

I would drill stop before I filled the hole. A round hole is less likely to crack.

Is this never going to end? The OP resolved the issue many posts ago.

I know I can just ignore it but it always amazes me that some folks just keep on and on.

I sure the hell would let it go. What's your point in punishing the "old man"?

Yep^^^^^^^
There is no point.. that's the point that some just don't get.

What if... What if..... What if....... Seriously, what if he didn't have a good neighbor that he liked? What if it was him..his dad... his grandfather.... you? Be thankful some of you don't live in a glass house.

If it makes you feel any better I have a crack developing in the front bottom of the box near the truck bumpers. My rubber mat wasn't pushed all the way fwd and on our last off road adventure I guess stress and vibration on the bottom of the camper caused the fiberglass to buckle :0. Let me know how the fix goes as I am looking to do the same.

Sad when dealing with the elderly, emotions unfortunately come in to play. We're going through that now. Mom always said" actions have re-actions". I'd try to make it as easy on him kas possible, perhaps letting his kids know about the situation. I would insist on repairing it professionally.

Glad its resolved, 5 min 2 part epoxy will hold up well just make sure you sand and prel the area good to get a solid bond. Once its cure block sand it with 150,220,400. Hit it with a lil bit of rattle can primer come back in with 600 wet then come back in with white. Start with one dust coat then come back with 2 full coats and should be good. Sounds like alot of work but really isnt. I work with paints and composites everyday.

I just got a picture today from my daughter where she was having the 7 years old grandson shoot a BB gun up at the cabin, maybe he did that.
So big a world, so little time to see.
