Sold the trailer

Due to some personal mobility issues, we decided to sell the TT. The new owners just picked it up on Sunday. It has been an adventure but it was time to let it go.
Just wanted to say thanks to all of you who make this a great forum. I have always appreciated the help and advice - especially the respectful attitude of the contributors.

A few thoughts...
Get a big enough truck.
Swallow your pride and ask for help even if means somebody else backs it into that tight space
Arrive before dark.
Get fuel before it causes stress.
Don't worry about MPG.

Happy trails to one and all!

Check in once in a while. On the Toyota forum (so you know I have enough truck ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) there are lots of people that still post even though they don't have their truck anymore.

I had no problem letting someone else back my trailer in between his and my sister's house. He had lots more practice than me. I did arrive after dark that trip on the way home, but I left the TT in a parking lot until morning. Best wishes to you.

I think in 25 years of RV'ing, I've only arrived after dark a couple times. It's a cardinal rule for me!

I can't stress enough about "not stressing / worrying / being concerned with MPG"
A friend once said, "If you are micromanaging your choice of tow vehicle over a few MPGs, or getting annoyed that your current rig gets low MPGs, when towing, then you probably shouldn't be RVing in the first place, because clearly there's some bigger budget issues going in."

I also concur with ARRIVING BEFORE DARK!

I still remember a time when I was probably 4 or 5 years old. The tow rig was mom's work car - a 1969 Delta 88 4 door. It towed a 14' King TT. We arrived after dark, and it was raining. MISERABLE time. All I remember was being carried from the car to the TT, in the rain. Prior to that I must have been asleep in the car.

Sorry to hear about your health. I'm sure that was a difficult decision to sell the trailer but hopefully the new owners make some great memories in it as you did.

I have an aunt and uncle that also stopped camping several years ago due to their health but they can't seem to part with their 5er and it just sits. I hope you can find a way to get out and enjoy nature and traveling.

Sorry to hear your having health issues. I know every trailer i sold without having another to take its place made me very sad to see it leave my house and go down the road. I hope you can still get out and do some camping. Many of the state parks in pa have cabins to rent. Maybe that would work for you. Best of luck to you.

Sorry to hear you had to end this adventure and hope you find something else you're better able to do to fill the void.

I have always heard it said if you have to worry about fuel mileage then you can't afford the toy your bought. By the way all of you thoughts are right on.
