Standing showers in bunkhouse models.

Why do most bunkhouse models have standing showers? we are looking for a bunkhouse TT bc we have a small child (just turned 1) and talking about having a second, and the advantage to a bunkhouse is obvious gives us room for a pack n play or even a crib. Anyway back on topic a standing shower with small children who still takes baths isn't very useful, and it seems like most bunkhouse models have standing showers so it only leaves us a few to really choose from, that have bathtubs. I'm not really asking, I guess more of a small complaint or just an observation.

We are looking at a Salem/wildwood (same thing) 31KQBTS or 31QBTS any input on these would also be great. Thanks

The bunkhouse in my signature line has a tub. Even with older kids it is nice when all we really need to do is clean off their feet. We really like our KZ. Have fun finding your best fit!

We bought the Salem KQBTS last October and we love it. My children are now 4 & 6 and the tub/shower combo absolutely comes in handy sometimes. Especially with my younger child. The biggest selling point for me was the space in the back for the kids. We've even had a queen size inflatable mattress back there when family goes with us. It makes a rainy couple of days much more bearable for the kids to have plenty of room to play back there. If you have any questions about this TT I'd be more than happy to try to answer them for you.

We just bought a Shadow Cruiser 240 BHS. It does have the standup shower but the shower pan will hold about 6inches of water and has a drain plug. This was perfect for bathing our nearly 2 year old a few times over the Labor Day weekend. At first we wanted a tub/shower bath but after looking at a few and standing in them we didnt like them at all. They felt too small with not enough room for us.

Our 2 year old slept on the lower bunk in his popup sleep tent that zips closed-worked perfect. The 6 month old slept in her normal rock in play just in the bedroom door space. Worked well and is safe for both of them.

A plug for a shower pan, that could work. I will take a look at the shadow cruiser, I know I have a dealer not far from here that has them. Thanks!

We've been happy with ours so far. Only a few minor issues had to be addressed and the quality seems good.

Also the outside kitchen has the sink and cooktop on a nice coated metal slide out instead of the particle board most other brands are using. No worries about being damaged from water. The sink is a decent size and drains into the gray tank as well.

Yeah the cubes are awesome bc you can throw them out and have more floor space lol.

The Salem I'm looking at has two slides in the bunk room, and still has a full outside kitchen, complete with sink and not one of those useless sinks with no drain, this sink has a drain, idk how they did it being I'm in construction I do want to know.

Are you looking at new models or used models?

My TT has 3 slides and is a bunkhouse. Last weekend my mother-in-law slept on a blowup mattress on the floor back there. I think I understand what you are seeking.

How about something like this:

Forest River 287QBS

Those cubes could be completely removed and replaced with a portable crib of your choice. If you want bigger still look for bunk houses with 3 slide outs. That will mean that you won't have the outside kitchen.

My TT has quad bunks and a tub (see sig). However the gray water tank is rather small so couldn't do too many baths without causing an overflow issue.

My previous Jayco 26L had quad bunks and a tub as well.

Maybe my idea of a bunkhouse is different then a lot of you, my idea of a bunkhouse is a room with bunks. We looked and thought about the many wonderful floor plans you guys shared, but can't really put a baby on a bed and walk away, point of the big bunk room is for the use of a crib. Obviously thought about just bringing a small tub, but then that's just another thing to deal with when we could just pick one with a tub.

Yeah the tub is not for me lol I'm only 5'7, the tub is useless for anything other then small children. Btw you have a nice camper.

The Rockwood Ultralight 2702SS, the 2702WS, 2905WS all have tubs and are bunk houses. The Cherokee 235B (2 bunks) and 265B (2 full size bunks) also have tubs.

The Gulfstream Vista (was Visa) line has a small tub/shower basin.

Somehow, as you get bigger, the tub disappears.

And I have to admit, in all the seasons and long travel we have done in the Visa, we never filled the tub. And my kids were bath age when we bought it.
