If your Tradesman is stock the steering wheel is plastic. I had a cover similar to the one posted by skidpro3 on my 15 and it made the rim FAT. It was HUGE. With 1900 miles on the odo I installed a factory leather wheel out of a 14 1500 with audio controls.
I found the finish of stock wheel to be a bit rough.

Definately rabbit fur!
Could get a matching furry toilet lid and seat cover!

Like most Dodges, c rappy steering wheel cover started shedding on my 07 years ago. Must've been my wife's baby soft hands that did it in since she put most of the first 100kmi on it, lol.
Cheapo rubber cover like the one posted has held up well for the last few years.
Thinking about a decent stitched cover though since the heavy rubber one, although comfortable, looks tacky.

We have one made out of rabbit fir, I think. Stretches to fit over the wheel. Washable. Good for hot weather and cold weather.

I like to use the stitched leather covers that almost looks oem. when I drive I like to pick at the stitching with my finger nails and there all lasted quite a while.

The wheel cover is a good idea, my dad thought they were tacky and at a a hundred thousand miles his oem came apart.

I have a 2006 Ram Laramie witch has a leather steering wheel cover. I use this cover;
https://www.amazon.com/Dodge-Diamond-Plate-Style-Steering/dp/B0002MBKBO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=14765...

It has held up now for 10 years and still looks like new.
The diamond plate provides great grip and it cleans up using a kitchen wet wipe.

Besides, you can't beat that price!

I have one of these for last 11 years. Good protection for wheel and palms feel great after driving all day. Also put one on my truck at work, that was used everyday for many years.

Also held up good to abusive cleaning with handcleaner or solvent or anything handy when mechanic would grease it up servicing truck. Held up good even though not right stuff for cleaning. Somewhat of a pain to put on but worth it. Not the cheapest by a long shot.
