Stopped at weight station ROUND 2-Need advice

I am so lucky to have a Indiana weigh station so close to me that I use there scales when there closed as they leave them turned on..

I am still in attempt to fine tune my Equalizer system and get it PERFECT. Its towing pretty good, no sway. I have one complaint and I not sure I can even eliminate it. I tow between 60 and 65mph, and when most all vehicles pass by me on the highway, I can feel the push pull effect. Sometimes, I can even feel it when a car blows by me at 80mph. Definitely can feel it when SUVs and trucks blow by me, and feel it when semis blow by me. Its not much of a problem, just wondering if I can entirely eliminate the push pull effect. It doesn't cause sway, just makes me pay more attention when towing.

My towing weights are listed as below, fully loaded with firewood in bed of truck. It seems to me my adjustments I made to my Equalizer made it transfer and restore all my front axle weights except 180 #s. Is this sufficient or do I need to restore the additional 180#s also if that's even possible...?? I am towing trailer slightly nose down, and all my measurements are showing what they should.
Tow vehicle is 2007 GMC 2500HD,CC, Gas job 6.0, with 4.10s.
Trailer is 2014 Keystone Hideout 27DBS. Trailer weighs between 7,000 and 7,200 pounds depending on how much we pack for each outing.

Truck empty: Front Axle-3600#, rear axle-3440# Total weight-7040#

Combo WITHOUT Equalizer E4 hooked up: Front Axle-3220#,
Rear Axle-4860#, Trailer Axle-6,180#, Total-14,260#

Combo WITH Equalizer E4 hooked up: Front Axle-3420#, Rear Axle-4540, Trailer Axle-6280#, Total-14,240#

Please Let me know what else need to be done, or are my numbers perfect?
Thanks a lot!

jbres, which Indiana scale are you using?

The real problem a lot of people are experiencing is the rear leaf springs flexing side to side. A rear suspension system that controls lateral movement will eliminate much of this feeling. I am pulling with a 2015 RAM 2500 with the five point coil spring suspension. There is no perceived sway, push or pull during any time pulling the trailer. I use no WDH or any sway control. My TW is 1204lbs.

My fifth wheel gets it to. Nothing alarming, but I can feel it when a semi passes me. As others have said, as long as it is doing it as a whole, it is simple physics. Now come to think of it, I have not had it with my dually. Maybe look at your tires also. Go to heavier sidewall.

I pulled a 30ft 9000lb TT with a 3/4T YukonXL for years, and a 1T duramax for the last year with an Equilizer hitch. After tuning it and having the TT *slightly* nose-down I thought it towed great. Many years and many miles. It did have that 'suck-in/out' when a semi going 75mph came by me - this was a little scary when I didn't see him coming, otherwise not a big deal. I was happy.

This spring we changed to a 5th wheel. End of suck-in/out and now I really know what towing nicely is. I could be satisfied towing a TT again, but never again 'happy.'

Nice thing about being retired, I don't have to tow on really windy days or otherwise try to overcome the forces of nature. A lot of us who travel a lot, actually look at the weather before towing. Wind can affect fuel mileage as well.

Just me- When you refer to the wheel wells are you meaning the Trailer Wheel wells or truck wheel wells?

In no way am I meaning I have bad sway or even any sway at all. Just some slight push/pull. I really only use my rig with camping usually an hour or less from my house, and about once a year make a 4 hour trip. But I am using it at least 3 times a month.Biggest thing I have noticed is very windy days are the worst. Never fun towing on those days. Not sway, just wind gust attempting to push entire rig around.

Best advice I ever received was to make adjustments to the your rig level. You will have to put more tension on the bars to do this. this in turn will help with the BIG rig passing you when you get the sway you refer to. In my city we have a hitch manufacture (PARDS) and he said to measure the wheel wells (both) to the top of the tires, and make them equal measurements.
Also to avoid the push pull, give a little distance between you and the sway maker, Hug the outside line more.
Next suggestion, buy a 5th wheel.

Good lick on adding a 7th washer. I couldn't hitch and unhitch very easy when I added a 7th. Could only do 6. Maybe yours is different.

I never got rid of the jerky push pull in 10,000 miles using several different styles of WD's. IMO it was a POS trailer frame. And I see they redesigned it after I bought my. Go figure.

If 3,400 pounds is actually on the front two tires, 3,600 is not going to help. Even semis notice the wind under certain circumstances. There are a few very fortunate people on here who are immune to the laws of physics. My 2013 loses much more than 200 pounds with no ill effects.

I'm a believer in restoring all weight and maybe a hair more. The front axle has directional control of the rig, and if those wheels don't have enough traction you don't get your directional control.

Oh, I misread. You are restoring about half the weight lost on front axle. I would still target restoring all of it, but that truck should handle it well.

If you have the floaty feeling to the front end then put 1 more washer in the head. Make sure the washers that you are useing are hardened.

Frankly it wouldn't hurt to try to restore that last 180lbs.

I suspect you're borderline "floaty" on the front, and all it takes is a little wind from passing cars to put you over the edge.

While 180lbs "shouldn't" be a big deal you also have to remember that you are towing the broad side of a barn down the road and any little puff of wind will be amplified.

Putting 10-ply tires on half ton trucks since aught-four.
