More details are required. What are the dry weights of this TT, tongue and total? What is your tow vehicle and it's receiver ratings?

Guessing without that information, but half ton or smaller TV, you probably need weight distribution as 26.5' probably means over the 600 pounds of loaded TW that most receivers have.

$1000CAN is a lot for pretty much any WDH except the ones that cost $2500-3500CAN. I'm pretty sure the dealer is not selling those premium hitches at a discount.

Equal-i-zer 4-pt and Reese Straight Line are the two I recommend, both can be has for under $500USD.

$1000 is really steep. I picked up a reese 1000 lb weight dist. hitch setup with anti-sway included for $250 in Edmonton couple of months ago.

we have an Equalizer hitch and pull a 33 ft. TT and it is great. Check Woody's in Calgary. We could not find one here in Canada at the time so bought ours from CW but it was expensive with the freight. But well worth the investment.
Good Luck

We have an equalizer and two sway bars on our 27ft. New it came with one sway bar but for another 50 dollars we added a second. We pull our 20ft boat behind the travel trailer so for the bit of money a second made the decision easy.

get a good sway bar, Hensley Arrow is the best but some go with equalizer. Realize that without a GOOD sway bar/weight distributing hitch you will be all over the road and it is dangerous. RV dealers will sell you anything so do your homework and buy nothing unless the price is right and installation of hitch is in line money wise as well. YOUR life can depend on your hitch!!!!!

I'm sure being in Canada will bump up the cost some, but I recently paid $650 for a 10K Equal-i-zer hitch when I bought my used travel trailer.

As said above, $1,000 would more than is needed.

An e2 hitch w/ sway bars, installed is approx $600.00. That $1,000 price seems a bit steep.

I agree with the first response, $1000 is steep. I just had an Equal-I-Zer installed on my new trailer for around $700. A standard WD hitch with friction sway bars should be around $300.

Enjoy your new trailer!

Here's ya the same thing for under $300.00.... so no.. I would absolutely NOT spend $1000.00 on a standard WD hitch and friction sway control.

EZ-LIFT WD hitch

PS.. look at part number 14-0133KIT

You can order you part number 98-2004 for the Left Hand sway control

$1000.00 gets you close to a refurbished Hensley Arrow.. NOW that is a hitch that I would spend money on.

Thanks!
