I see that Northstar offers a Fold Out Extra Bed in Cabover option. Do any other manufactures have this option on a hard side TC?

I figure that I can just move stuff from the cab-over bed to the tip-out or bunk, when the bed when we get to where we are going. It should be an interesting challenge going from a 21ft floor trailer to a TC. But I actually liked our 16ft floor trailer we had before. I will probably get a small utility trailer or small boat that could carry some stuff too. Also thinking about a box to put on the roof of the TC as well.

Thanks everyone!

Only problem with using pop-up/fold-out spaces for storage is that you have to take everything you have stored there out and store it somewhere else for travel. It's the only thing I really don't like about my TC.

Alum. is cheaper/easier to repair and lighter weight than filon. I had both and like the alum. I'm tired of delamination issues with filon, too much work/expense.

I like old school and I had trouble with a filon trailer getting water damage in the luan backing material. The totaled the trailer. I like the idea if being able to repair damage it it ever happened. With a wood framing as well, the aluminum skin is more attractive to me. Just my thought process. The new graphics on the filon do look nice though.

You can sleep 5 comfortable in a 8.5arrow with the upper bunk already! Add the XB and even more sleeping/ storage area. I would stay away from aluminum siding because that is old school and doesn't have many benefits composed to a clean fiberglass look.

Thanks for the reply's. Having the Fold Out XB in the cabover, seems like a great way to get some extra storage space and/or give a place for the kids to sleep. I am looking at getting this on an Northstar 8.5 Arrow, with aluminum siding and putting it on a short bed F350 crew cab. Hoping this will allow me to drive the truck daily and give just enough room for two adults and two kids (3 & 7) to sleep. I have been pulling a travel trailer, but we only use it when we can make reservations. Hoping that a TC makes it possible to just pick up and go w/o worrying about fitting in a camp space. It would also be nice to pull a small fishing boat or utility trailer when we do go for the extended stays in one place.

Thanks,

Jason

The flip-out in the cabover is exclusive to Northstar.

I recall that Lance at one time had a rear fold-out bunk option on TC's that had the side door entry. I am not an Lance aficionado... perhaps those who are better versed on this brand can comment as to if it is still available.
Sold the TC, previous owner of 2 NorthStar pop-ups & 2 Northstar Arrows...still have the truck:

I don't think so. A few companies do make fold out beds though.
