Thinking about ordering a new truck tomorrow

If the DW gives in. I am thinking of ordering a 2016 F350 CC LB 4x4 6.2 liter with the 4:30 gears. I want power windows and locks, the Fx4 package and that's about it. I can get it in the XL model which has the vinyl flooring instead of carpet. Anybody else have this engine and gearing? How long will it take to get a truck that is ordered? BTW this truck will be only used for towing our TT with our golf cart in the bed of the truck. My last 3 trucks were diesel and I will not pay the price of the upgrade anymore. Thanks for any input. Is there a big difference between 2015's and 2016's? You almost never get good discounts when doing a custom order. It's a good time to buy a leftover 2015 though.
I had them price a 2015 that was on another lot close by, they wanted full sticker price. The salesman also said they only make 1K per super duty sale. that is why I will not use this dealer again.

I'll bet with the latest Ram debacle, ANY deals will be hard to come by.

Wow. Just like that you go from ordering a Ford, to buying a Chebby dually 6.0 off the lot. Maybe you better take some time and think this through.

I can tell you that the dealer CAN give you a solid price on an ordered truck. What he CAN'T do is tell what (if any) incentives/ rebates will be at the time of delivery.

I bought a new 2013 F250 6.2, and I now own a 2015 F350 6.7 diesel. Any more questions?
Why should I think things through? I have found a equal truck for thousands less. I have also been offered extras in the deal at no extra cost. The salesman pissed me off at ford and that is that. I am not brand loyal even though I have bought 4 fords in a row. In fact the fords have been less than good. The first 04 f150 was a turd and ford bought it back. The second was a ford f250 6.0. ford could not keep it running so I traded it for a 06 F350 6.0 and it was decent. the last was a 08 ford 6.4 it had 5K in warranty work done in the first 50K miles but has been ok for the next 50k miles. So I think its time for a change.

Jayco.

I just bought a 2015 F350 last week. Dealer was listing $11,500 off MSRP. Saw a commercial yesterday saying a local dealership going $12,000 off all 2015 F250s.

Mine had a sticker showing $64,800. I paid $53,300.
I think the straw that broke the camels back was him telling me that they only make 1K per truck. I know thats BS and thats when I thanked him for his time and walked out. BTW they have called twice since I left but I told them I was no longer interested in a ford from them.

Update, Ford will not give me a final price on a 2016 if I order it. They have a 2015 that is available from another dealer but they will not deal any on the price. I have bought 4 new trucks from this dealer in the past. They even told me that they only make about $1000 on the sale of any super duty. BS is my thoughts. So I went across town to the Chevy dealer and they have a 2015 3500HD 6.0 DRW CC LB 4x4 with all the stuff I wanted plus a few extras. They priced it for 4K less than the ford and are even willing to through in a spray in Rhino liner. I think I might go this route. One thing for sure is I will never deal with my local Ford dealer again.

Good for you! I did the same thing but went with a Ram 6.7 I hate how the Ford dealers do that type stuff I purchased 2 vehicles from them in the past and the way they treated me was like it didn't matter. Screw that Ford dealer.

I bet you will really like the Chevy. I've ridden in a few and they are nice.

As usual, poster asks for opinions from 6.2 owners and the vast majority of responses are from diesel owners and/or those who have never towed with one.

Yes, diesels are towing monsters. You all love them, we know that, you remind us all the time.

The OP is pulling 9000lbs!!!! The 6.2 with 4:30s is rated to pull 15,000lbs. The 6.2 will perform very well. I have one!!

15k???
What's Ford smokin? Maybe 15k in FL. Translates to about 9k uphill at altitude, maybe, unless you don't mix being like the guy towing the 85 5ver who hated it but didn't know it yet. Lol.
4:30s will make a difference over 3:73s for sure, but they're not like a magic nitrous button!

And your post helps the OP how? :h Don't see a 6.2 in your signature Grit dog.

Lol! Put your readers back on. Told there OP I thought it would handle the towing but not in the mtns. Seemed helpful to give my opinion........ How did your post help him?
If I put every vehicle I own or drive in my sig it would be annoying and look like I was bragging or something.
But FYI, I have a new 6.2 company rig I'm getting ready to step into and head home from work and had a '13 6.2 prior to that. Aaaaand have been around dozens of them used for work.
Prolly doesn't qualify me since it's not in my sig though....
