Torklift FastGun Locks

Hi, I was looking at the Fastgun locks on ebay and see they go for 65.99 with free shipping for 4. Thats the cheapest price Ive seen. Although Ill probably buy them anyway,has anyone out there ever had a fast gun stolen? Just wondering Thanks, Lou

I realize that it's too late to advise you of this but I lost a couple of the plastic caps. I called TL and they had a new set in the mail without charge. I also lost one half of a lock and they set me a new set no charge.

Thats great for you! But in this changing world I would consider locking my doors, thats just my humble opinion;)

This is what it is. I am not worried about them in my driveway, but out on the road somewhere. Sad to say, but some people will steal almost anything if you give them a chance. Better to minimize their chances.

I read the reviews on the OEM locks (not particularly good) and opted for long shank Master locks. The Fastgun covers the gas door, so it is even a nice "locking gas cap". It takes 20 seconds to take the lock off and then the fastgun.

I think I read 1 post in a million where a guy got his stolen and was asking others if they had spares laying around.

I purchased set of 4 matching stainless steel master locks for mine all keyed the same. They compliment my stainless fastguns. Save your money.

It just doesn't add up as something that would be likely stolen because of what they are. Someone who steals my FastGuns for recycling money is just as likely to steal my old tie-downs for the same purpose - and I never locked them in place.

Some people will just steal things because they can. A year ago, some hooligan kids took the antenna off my '65 Chevy that was brand new. No reason to take it other than it was easy to unscrew. As someone pointed out, you can remove the Fastguns pretty easily even if locked. The locks will slow someone down and deter the really stupid thieves.

Theres was a post last December-member had 3 stolen, but he was looking for replacments, post crossed the 'for sale or wanted line" and was removed. Only one I heard of.

I have the FastGuns. Cool product name. Decent product, saves time compared to my old tie-downs. Limited market of truck camper people. If they have a jack to put under your frame tie-downs, they don't even need to cut anything. If you feel more secure with "real" Torklift locks, more power to you. But any locks are only marginally more secure than no locks.

I think most thieves would just unbolt the tie-down point from the camper before doing any of that. As was stated earlier, the locks (ANY locks) are just a mild deterrent. If someone really wants your Fastguns, you can kiss them goodbye.
