As I see it there are two main issues here ...
The OP, by what he's posted so far, clearly has little understanding of how travel trailers are built, how they must be maintained, how they fail, and therefore what to look for when purchasing a used one. That's fair, we've
all been there at one time, and to his credit at least he is asking questions.
🙂 However, he's also intending to buy one sight unseen, assuming that because it's being sold via eBay "buyer's protection" this should be a "safe" purchase. :R As one who's been involved in this sport for a couple of decades I sure wouldn't do this but hey, it's his $$$$$, he's entitled to waste it any way he wants. :W
The OP, based on what he's posted so far, also clearly has little understanding of what it takes to safely tow a trailer of this size. That he's
not entitled to do - to risk the safety of others just because he has no idea what he's doing. :M
As the old saying goes -
"There ought to be a law" ... but unfortunately there isn't so we must rely on the OP's common sense to pay attention to the good advice being offered in this thread and defer from this purchase until he's had the time to educate himself about the many various aspects involved in owning and safely towing a travel trailer. Let's hope his "Texas Pride" doesn't prevent this. :W
