Love your website. It has been a HUGE help and inspiration to us with the info about batteries, converters and solar panels. With us starting from scratch (literally nothing left on the interior of our re-build) and being that we are "new" first time TC owners, it has been a little harrowing to say the least.

(finished) Painted and installed all of the aluminum to the outside of the Amerigo (re-build) today. LED markers are up and tested. Next is doing a complete re-wire on the inside so we can start installing all of the new appliances. When will the nightmare end? LOL

I installed a new outside window frame on the entrance door. What a total PITA to do that by yourself with nobody to hold one half of the sandwich on the inside as you put it back together!! At least it's done! Then I filled the water tank, pressurized the water system to check for leaks (none, YAY!) loaded the fridge and freezer, vacuumed, washed the walls, changed the sheets, checked the air pressure in the truck tires, installed new wiper blades, washed all the windows, fired up the furnace and am going to bed ....in the camper! Leaving tomorrow for an 8 day trip up the coast to Big Basin Redwoods State Park and want to get an early start. First stop, Morrow Bay State Park. Can't wait!! I'm about 3 trips past due for trip reports. When I get home I have to have a little surgical procedure, so when I'm recovering I hope to catch up... with pics of course! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Happy Spring all! Rain in the Redwoods is forcast but I don't care at all! ๐Ÿ™‚

Big Basin: I've Mt biked the fire roads, hiked the trails, and rescued many injured hikers down by the waterfall when I was with Santa Cruz County Fire..should be spectacular and empty this week

Getting ready to camp. Sanitized fresh water system. Vacuumed out TC. Washed bedding and wiped down all the wall and counter surfaces. Planning our yearly pilgrimage to Deception Pass SP and the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival.

Cut out cauking around front jack mounts and recaulked. When I had reset mounts last year it was cold. Though I waited a few days to trim buytl tape-and then trimmed again couple of days later before caulking, appearantly it wasnt done migrating. 1st trip out and warmer weather started oozing again and pushed most of the caulking loose. Oh well-done, it "might" rain- hopefully ensuring jack were still sealed I didnt jinx the possibility.

Pulled 2 of my jack power heads to sent back to the factory for rebuild. I opened one up last week and found the gears and bearings in like new condition. The problem was in the lower motor bearings.

The 2 good power heads pulled almost 2 amps. The noisy bad ones were pulling 4 amps. I couldn't get the motor out of the plastic case.

The factory does a complete rebuild for $60 each, so I decided to spend that time doing something else.

Contrary to a lot of posts on RV.NET, I called HappiJac and received great service. Marv at customer service/repair sent me the info necessary to do maintenance on the jacks but recommended that they do the work.

I'm in electronics and buy this kind of hardware daily. I expected to pay ~$50 each for the motors, so it's a "no brainer", for $10 more plus shipping, I'll let them rebuild them. Then I don't have to play in the grease.

Purchased 10 LED replacement bulbs for the fixtures I didn't get finished with the 1st 6 I purchased. I will use the remainder of the 10 to start replacements in my motorhome.

Installed 4 more LEDs bulbs in the TC and 6 on the MH.

We flushed the water and waste water tanks, loaded food and clothes and fixed a geyser.

The vacuum breaker valve decided to geyser when Mike was flushing the waste tanks.
It's not like it froze over the winter. Anyone know what it is there for? It seems like you would have to fill the holding tanks instead of just be rinsing them out with drain valves wide open to send pressure up toward clean water pipes.

Shampooed the carpets and upholstery in the TC today! We have a custom cut "rug" that fits over the linoleum in our Fox. I removed it, stain treated and shampooed it on the deck, and beat all the sand/dirt out of it. Almost got the concrete dye stain out of it...that my daughter managed to "christen" the camper with on our first trip. It's forever stained the base of the rug...but I got it out of the fiber strands. My Fox has aged more in 6 months with my children than it did in the 10 years prior to them being in it.
