Finally made it to Peurto Panasca/Rocky Point Mexico. This is our first time south of the boarder with our fifth wheel and we are pretty excited about it. We met up with some friends in Ajo Arizona where we bought insurance. We only bought trip insurance good for the day you drive in and the day you drive out, then formed our caravan and headed south. Crossing the boarder was easier than expected for us they waived us through, didn't even talk to us. Our friends from Canada had their fifth wheel searched but it was no big deal. The highway is in good shape but the roads in town are pretty rough.
We are staying at Playa Bonita RV resort with our rig a Montana 3400 RL backed up to the bulkhead facing the Sea of Cortez. Service is 30 amp/water/sewer. No TV unless you have a satellite dish. We are staying for 13 nights at 27 bucks http://s1194.photobucket.com/user/ps146364/library/

Okay after two weeks in Puerto Penasca (aka) Rocky Point Mexico we made it to our winter space at Desert Trails RV park 8 miles west of Tucson. If you like the beach Playa Bonita is the place for you. The beach is clean, the park is clean with clean restrooms and showers, laundry room, wifi service was good and no 50 amp plug in but my 30 amp wire was on a 50 amp breaker with no issues even with the ac running.
The best part for me was getting our 38 foot fifth wheel washed and waxed and my truck washed for 76 bucks and they did a good job.
Other people liked the fact that every morning a vendor would drive through the park selling shrimp and fish while another walked the board walk selling breakfast burritos. there was a young lady that provided manicures and pedicures too, all reasonably priced. Then of course the trinket vender's all day everyday.
Coming back into the states was as easy as going into Mexico with one minor problem. The gate has one of those clearance bars painted yellow hanging from chains warning 12' 3" clearance now my forward ac unit has yellow paint on it from the bar dragging across it. If it wasn't there at all everything would be fine.
I put a link to some pictures in my original post I think you have to copy it to your search bar and hit enter.

Probably not so much. If it's not a busy entry point, then you will have less going through that way. Busy places like Brownsville or Nogales is where they will try because it's so busy and there's a better chance of them slipping through.

Bilmarde just said they got waved through so I'd try them if I was smuggling.

Bilmarde,
I'm surprised the border patrol doesn't stop you at the Lukeville crossing just to practice talking to another human. Its 35 miles south of Why, AZ. Bet that's what the agents are asking themselves. 🙂
Retired and visiting as much of this beautiful country as I can.

Don't expect such an easy border crossing on your return. There just aren't a lot of folks going into Mexico with an RV loaded with illegal immigrants and drugs.

Yeah we always figure the return crossing will be a bit of a hassle.

The first time we went south of the border (Canada/USA) it was pretty exciting for us too. Glad everyone is safe. Have a great time.
