Any restrictions on food products going into U.S.?

We are getting ready to leave for our annual sojourn to the south. Does anyone know if the U.S. border crossings are enforcing any meat restrictions this year? We found a good deal on pork and would like to take some south with us.

One year we had to leave our raw eggs at Detroit but our hardboiled eggs were OK.

Citrus is banned alla time.

For the past few years, the only meats banned are goat, mutton and lamb. Pet food manufactured in US and in original container is OK. What they are looking for in the ingredients is where organ meats are from and if from goats or lamb, than not allowed.

The government web-site is the best accurate source. Of course even that can change between when you read it and when you cross.

PS Dog-food has not been totally "banned", probably ever. There are restrictions, including that you have to have it in the original package. The package allows them to ensure that nothing in it is banned. There are some "natural" brands that are banned, due to one (or more) ingredients.

When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen, they might be right. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention, they probably know something you don't.

As of April 15, 2014 pork is allowed but that is the latest update I have.

But if it is cured such as bacon or peameal bacon it is always ok.

I do know you can't even take dog food! Leave it all behind and plan on a Costco stop!

I don't know what is accepted today.
I do know it can change overnight.
No matter the answer you get, it could be wrong tomorrow.
