Arizona weather very different than last year!

Remember last January in AZ? Thought we were going to freeze our butts off at McDowell Mountain and in Apache Junction not to mention snow in Tucson. Lows were in the low 20s highs in the 30s.

I know AZ needs some moisture, but the low to mid 70s and 0% precipitation sure feels good to my old bones. Took a bike ride yesterday in shorts and actually broke a sweat. They're saying next two weeks should be above average temps.

Guess this is payback for all the snow I shoveled and blew back in December. I spent six hours one day working on the driveway back to the RV barn. It was 8 degrees with 50mph winds. Thought I was going to leave my bones in a snowdrift until spring.

Global Warming... Ops can't call it that so Climate Change. A colder Pacific oscillation and La Nina if history repeats itself means colder WX in the central US. It's actually been warmer than normal in Fla this winter. Looking forward to some cooler WX this next week.

Odd reading your posts... all I hear and read on weather forecasts is the apocalyptic cold - "arctic vornado" thingy - that is causing the entire USA to freeze till the end of time. At least that is how the weather people are describing it...

This is not a normal winter. We are having colder than nights earlier in the winter this year in So. AZ.

JET STREAMS all screwed up for what-ever reasons for the past few years... Hopefully familiar patterns will emerge from all of this in the coming years...
