We were just coming back from Gatlinburg, TN heading home and seen a billboard for Anchor Down RV Resort in Dandridge, TN. We turned right to go check it out. What we found was the absolute awsomest RV Resort we have ever seen. The Resort hit the nail on the head when they said "breathtaking views of the Smoky Mountains" and it is on Douglas Lake, which is great because we bass fish!!! It is a brand new resort that opens March 17th, 2014. They are on facebook and you can check out their website at www.anchordownrvresort.com

Have to agree with the advertising assessment.

Overall I think they need to tweak their website. I give them high marks for including a lot of resort and site pictures, but the lack of a common page structure, overuse of bolded text, etc and that page of advertising links just reinforced my first impression of the website. It just does not match up with the pictures I am seeing.

This appears to be a vey class resort in the making. The website needs to reflect the same. I'd hire a company to get this in place pronto and probably checkout who created sites like Heartside Grove in Petosky, MI or Traverse Bay RV resort.

I live in Dandridge and this place is beautiful. Pricey too but way nice. Sure it may not appeal to everyones idea of camping but some folks have invested big money in their rigs and don't want branches falling out of trees or critters scurrying accross their roofs. The view is FABULOUS, sites have stone fireplaces, are spot on level, they have a boat launch, Douglas lake is in the top 5 of bass tournement lakes and the area is far enough removed from the crazyness of Pigeon Forge to be enjoyable but close enough to go visit. Friends are comming down the end of March and are looking at staying there and we may join them there for 2 days before heading to Dade City FL. They have what they call "buddy" sites where you can face each other with a central fire place. From what I saw I think the size of the sites are quite generous. There is a nice TVA camp ground a little ways away too, if you can get in. its busy.

Your review would help many more RVers if you would post it on RVParkReviews.com. Reviews of new RV parks are always appreciated; the instructions for entering a previously unreviewed park are on the site.

Sure it looks pretty. But when developing a new campground why jam spots on top of one another? As Im looking at the pics it looks like our two slides would be near or touching the neighbors awning. I don't get it. Obviously they had to cut trees down to develop, but why all of them? Everybody obviously has their taste but I don't do parking lot camping especially at 60-70 dollars a night. Its a shame because its a beautiful location.

The more sites, the more revenue. It is a shame.

This exact same message, word for word, was posted by the same poster that joined just yesterday on another forum.

As I said yesterday: I have a problem with some of the "extra" charges. They allow golf carts and you can even bring and use you own for a modest $5.00 per day. What a deal!

It has been years since I have visited Cowboy's. A Google search shows it may have closed. The BBQ place might be there today.

You can use your OWN golf cart for a mere $5.00 per day!

Maybe the owners worked for KOA.

Looks great. But many on here will not like it at all. They allow golf carts! And even rent them out...lol Plus people won't be able to put up their flag poles and external overnight lighting, plus a bunch of other rules.
