Branson for seniors?

I have read the previous threads & checked RV Park reviews, but am still having trouble with where to stay... We have a 33’ fiver and will want p/t FHU pretty close to the attractions. We don’t care about campfires or kids activities & don’t boat or fish. We eat out frequently. A shuttle or bus to the campground would be ideal! Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

I’m 70 yo so qualify as a “senior”. Just spent 5 days in Branson. Stayed at Musicland Kampground. Could not be more convenient (right behind Titanic). But they close for season tomorrow. We have stayed at Wilderness Campground at Silver Dollar City and liked it. Not close to “Strip”, but plenty close enough. Wherever you choose, call to make sure they are open. Lights and stage show musicals at Silver Dollar City were FANTASTIC!!! The “Miracle of Christmas” at Sight and Sound Theatre are worth a trip to Branson by itself.

After typing my essay out I went to my Facebook Page....you can scratch off the "Carpenter's Once More" and Neil Diamond Tributes(their married)...they are going on tour and won't be in Branson. Sorry

We spent a month in Branson last year(seeing many, many shows) and we stayed at Ozark Country CG...I believe they have a shuttle to at least some of the shows although we did not use it. They are a Passport America CG last time I looked. Not a lot of pomp and circumstance but a Good Clean campground with Great owners on site.

The drive into town is easy most days, just don't wait to the last minute to get to a show. Speaking of show's...be sure to go to the original "two for one" show building(its the purple building on 76)...most all shows can be had for two for one. If you have the constitution to say NO, sit through a Time Share, we did and got free tickets to "Moses" at the Sight and Sound Theater among other deals just for a few (60 minutes) of your time.

We aren't exactly spring chickens but we loved going to the Landing and checking out the Happy Hour's both for food and drink...good deals to be had there too! Along with the shows already suggested, for a couple or few imtimate shows, check out The Carpenter's(Karen)tribute, The John Denver Tribute and Neil Diamond Tribute. For that extra special time, the Haygood's and Clay Cooper put on fantastic show's. Whatever is playing at Sight and Sound during your visit, is a must see! Have a ball!!!!

We stayed there under passport america's half price. Great place. Walk to titanic and especially Andy's frozen custard--YUM!

Drove through it recently what am I missing? its a open gravel lot ?

If you're looking for a place within walking distance to many attractions and eateries, try the Musicland Kampground right behind the Titanic. Nice facilities and just a block off the 'strip'. Montana Mike's is a good place to eat, and is just a short walk from the campground.

Look into Americas Best Campground. I think it will have what you are looking for.

The only time we were there we stayed at ABC and drove everywhere. Relatively easy to get to the shows provided one doesn't go on Saturday night!

We are in Branson once or twice every year offer the following suggestions.
Use the alternate routes that parallel 76 hiway and the traffic is manageable.
The KOA is a good CG and close to many attractions, we like Musicland but may be limited on pull thrus.
Best places to eat: the Keeter Center at the College of the Ozarks, the Bradford Inn (lunch only), numerous restaurants in the "Landing " at old town Branson.
Recommended shows: The Million Dollar Quartet, the Hughes Brothers , the Haywood's and the Duttons.
Plan to spend some time at "Top of the Rock" and eat at one of the restaurants. Located about five miles south of Branson just west of Hwy 65. The entrance fee is deducted from restaurant or gift shop charges , it's worth the experience.

I just did a quick search on the internet for campgrounds in Branson, Missouri and had several returns for Good Sam campgrounds. I looked at (almost) all of their web sites and, every one of them looked like an OK place to stay. (of course, we use Good Sam campgrounds a lot anyway). All of them appear to be within close proximity of Branson, and I'm kind of druling now, as now I'm getting an itch to want to visit every one of them! I was in Branson a few times in my life (many moons ago stayed in a cabin, and wouldn't mind going back).

Anyway, I think any one of these on this site would be worth exploring. I would advise, if you have a specific date in mind, to get a reservation in NOW if they are taking them!
