Canyon de Chelly, RV parks?

Are there Rv parks in/near Chinle or the canyon that has, at least, 30 Amp electric? I can only find listing of 2 camps, Cottonwood & Spider Rock. Spider Rock seems to be away from the canyon in middle of nowhere. Is it safe out there? Please, no comments about Native Americans honesty, just info of the camps is all I need . Thanks :@

Many Farms Lake RV Park is a small camping facility with only 10 RV sites. Many Farms Lake RV Park's sites feature full electric, water and sewer connections. The park is located about a half-mile off Highway 191 in Chinle. It is only about three miles from the Canyon de Chelly National Monument.

Many Farms Lake RV Park is currently open, and the park is being developed into a full-service RV campground with additional sites and amenities. Campers at Many Farms Lake RV Park can participate in hiking, mountain biking and ATV riding at nearby Canyon de Chelly National Monument.

Short answer is no on 30 amps -- Cottonwood is where we stay and we have been at least 5-6 times and have always loved it (note we only visit in the late fall or winter when it is cool so the need for electric is not) IMHO it is very safe -- and I would also suggest you take the time to have dinner in the Lodge, it has also always been memorable.

Tying this end to a visit to Monument and Mexican Hat along with Window Rock and Page/Antelope Canyon and Lake Powell is almost always the way we do this area, but like I said only when the nights are cold and the days are cool. Enjoy the area as there are few like it anywhere else.

Nothing wrong with Spider Rock from my perspective. Quieter and more secluded than the campground near the park's entrance and visitor center.

We stayed at Cottonwood a couple of years ago. Probably not a place I want to stay at again. Seemed to be lots of locals just hanging out in the campground.

Spider Rock CG looked pretty seedy when we we visited the area in March 2011 and it is pretty far out of town. We stayed at Cottonwood which is a nice facility and very convenient to everything. Neither CG has electric hook-ups.

Fees will be collected beginning April 16, 2012.
All camp sites are $10 per site for the first 4 people and

Both campgrounds have water and a dump station available, but no hookups.
Cottonwood is now being run by the Navajo nation and not NPS. My understanding is that there is now a camping fee.
Cottonwood is closer to Chinle and is well shaded with large cottonwood trees, clean restrooms. There is a cafateria across the street from the campground and tours of the canyon can be set up at the lodge.
Spider Rock about 10 miles east of Chinle on hwy.7 the south rim road and is privatly owned. Tent sites are $10. and RV sites $15.
The closest place to the canyou with full hookups that I am aware of would be Ganado.

We have stayed at both and never felt unsafe.

Those are the closest campgrounds near the canyon. Neither one has hookups. The national park's campground, Cottonwood, is the best, by far! Two nights at the most is enough to tour the canyon so you don't really need hookups.

There is only the one campground at Canyon de Chelly. It is an old NPS campground so there are no hookups. We have stayed there twice and never had any problems. It is very safe. I have never seen it full either. My memory of town is not as good, but I believe they have everything you might need.
