Forest Service Campgrounds with electricity

We love Forest Service Campgrounds, it is an extra bonus when we can find one with electricity. Does anyone have any they could recommend? Thanks so much.

Several campgrounds in the Daniel Boone NF have electricity and decent sized lots.

No sardine can lots.

Has anyone camped in Shawnee National Forest (southern Illinois) at either Pounds Hollow or Lake Glendele. Both campgrounds have some sites with electricity and Lake Glendale has electric and water. But descriptions sound better for Pounds Hollow. Any first hand experience? We're headed there Monday 9.14 for a week.

We've stayed in Merrill twice now. It's a great campground with lots of space for each site. There are 6 loops. The 2 closest to the water are dry camping. The next 2 are water and electric and the outer loops have full hook ups. It's about an hour north of Susanville, Ca.

Dow's Forest Camping Site

Go to this site, pick a National Forest. From that page, pick a campground from the list. This will take you to a list of the CG's in that NF. Using the search feature on your browser, type in "hookups" and using that, scroll down the page to each occurrence of the word "hookups". You will find it either says no or gives some detail about the types of hookups available at each CG. I use this method when we are travelling far from home and don't know what types of facilities are available. I do the same thing to search for "Flush Toilets" at each CG. DW is always a little happier with CG's with those facilities.

Thanks so much for posting all these. I purposely phrased the question with no parameters hoping to get answers from all over the U.S. I will try to post a list according to the NF so if you can remember any CG names or find them on a website and let me know, I would love to include them. I have an old NFCG book published by Coleman, but I have found that either the electrical hook ups have been omitted or perhaps they have been added since the book was published. Thanks again.

It is definitely not in the national park. It's a forest service campground just north of West Yellowstone. Been there many times. 🙂

What he said, Baker's Hole is a Forest Service CG. Been there, done that, and will probably go there again and do it again!

Bakers Hole is a Forest Service CG. It lies on the edge of Yellowstone NP. It is concession aired by Hebgen Lakes Campgrounds out of West Yellowstone. DBA Barta Enterprises. Go here.
